Sega is bringing 30 of its old-school classics to PS2 this autumn with Sega Mega Drive Collection and we've got a handful of fresh shots for three of the best - Sonic, Golden Axe and Shinobi III.
Thankfully, they're untouched by the 'everything must be updated in basic 3D' brigade that tarnishes so many other arcade collections. Hit the images tab for more.

Today, Sega's primarily known for its Sonic the Hedgehog games, but back in 1989, the company's first hardware powerhouse made Nintendo quake in its market-dominating boots. The Sega Genesis remains one of the most revered consoles of all time, and later this fall you'll get a crack at 28 classic games on the Sega Genesis Collection.
The 16-bit compilation will include, obviously, Sonic again, but the inclusion of Shinobi III and Ristar hint that this may actually be a collection worth looking

For those who can't wait for the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console or for Xbox Live Arcade to increase its library, Sega has just announced what's potentially the greatest retro collection yet: Sega Genesis Collection for the PS2 and PSP.
