Resident Evil 4

Also known as: RE 4,Resident Evil IV,Resident Evil IV

Capcom has a ton of merchandise to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Resident Evil including a replica pistol. You can purchase Chris Redfields Samurai Edge, but it wont save you during a zombie outbreak since its an air gun. At 20,790 yen ($244) this Marui made replica is quite the collectable. 1/6 scale models of Jill Valentine wearing a battle suit and Ada Wong in her Resident Evil 4 outfit will also go sale this year. Both are roughly 28 cm tall and the Jill model has 30 moveable points. Fans can grab the Jill Valentine model in May for 18,900 yen ($221). A release date for the Ada model has not been announced.

Imagine if Tricell Pharmaceutical Company made a product that transformed wimpy men into deadly killers who could survive being neck deep in a river of volcanic magma. Imagine that product being called 'Old Uroboros' and being endorsed by Resident Evil's metrosexual bad guy Albert Wesker. Now imagine if the TV commercial for 'Old Uroboros' was like this...

Gamerzines writes: Capcom producer Keiji Infaune has voiced his opinion of the classic reboot Resident Evil 4 saying he wouldn't call it a 'zombie game'.

It might lack the satin sexiness of Ada Wong or the strike-a-pose foppishness of Leon Kennedy, but this inspirational Licker costume has a special charm all of its own. It is quite simply the best Resident Evil cosplay I have ever seen.

We sort of thought the Guinness Book of World Records was a collection of definite, measurable achievements. Like, that's pretty much everything it represents... or not - the latest edition of the Guinness Gamers' Edition contains a list of the top 50 game series, not by total sales or anything factual like that, but as determined by a poll. It's horrific.

See the whole list inside...

Rely on Horror writes: Looking at review scores in magazines isn't always the best way of telling if a game is for you. However having been the bastion of them for as long as I can remember they probably are still the deciding factor when it comes to what people go out and buy. Nonetheless the folks over at Kotaku have conducted research into the best games of each year from the past decade purely based on review scores from well known aggregate review sites GameRankings and Metacritic. The results are interesting...

HellDescent writes: Members of Capcom-Unity have created a campaign to bring Resident Evil: Outbreak to modern consoles. The fans either want a port/remake or a completely new sequel to the Outbreak series. There's a multitude of links to petitions and even avatar and signature images to help promote the cause further. Resident Evil 5 was all about partners and teamwork but a modern Outbreak would be fantastic. Something along the lines of a more serious and scary Left 4 Dead would be great. So check out the thread and give them your support.

Hell Descent writes: Paul W.S. Anderson's next Resident Evil film will not be releasing in September as previously stated, but a little earlier on August 27th. Apparently Anderson who is both the writer and director has been researching nearly every 3D film to hit the big screen to be ready for his first foray into the 3rd dimension of cinema. Our guess is that he needs to find some ways to incorporate 3D scenes without forcing them. Since Afterlife is supposed to be a reboot, we'll just pretend Extinction never happen and pray this film stays at least a mile from the source material.

IGN writes: Next month, Capcom resumes scaring gamers with Resident Evil 5, the latest entry in the survival-horror series that helped define a genre. The Resident Evil series turns 13 this year, too, making it a perfect time to ring in a new installment of this storied franchise. Chances are, if you've been gaming for the last decade, you have at least dropped one or two (or 500) zombies infected with Umbrella's sinister T-Virus.
