A version for the Nintendo Wii and Sony PSP and PS2 will be released later this year. Konami has told MCV that Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 will bring lapsed fans back to the franchise – thanks to a return to the series' hallmark realism.
After the very disappointing debut in the next-gen consoles (except the Wii, where it's recognized as an excellent effort) with PES 2008, Konami followed up with a very improved PES 2009. The next installment promises another good improvement too, as Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 will include a very-much-needed revamp of the Master League, a staple of the series.
Demonstrating the stunning new level of detail and graphical refinement, the work in progress image shows cover star Lionel Messi in action in the new game, and showcases a massive advance in aesthetic detail. PES 2010 will feature all-new dynamic lighting effects, where the position of the sun or the illumination from the floodlights is reflected in real time within the shadows cast both on the pitch, stadium, the ball and players.
