PS2 News from N4G | Rock Band
PS2 - Rock Band - GameSoundCon Adds Rock Band Network Classes The GameSoundCon conference is partnering with Rock Band developer Harmonix to add sessions to its novice-focused September L.A. event for those who want to create and publish music on the user-supported Rock Band Network.

Announced in July this year, Rock Band Network allows musicians to upload their own songs to the service, making their work accessible to Rock Band players as paid downloads.

But it's not just a matter of recording a piece and clicking "upload." Tracks must be mixed according to certain Harmonix specifications, outfitted with MIDI gameplay information, then peer reviewed before being put up for sale on the Network's store. As with Xbox Live Indie Games (formerly Xbox Live Community Games), authors will be paid royalties on a quarterly basis.

PS2 News from N4G | God Hand
PS2 - God Hand - God Hand port/sequel would be a difficult sell Examiner: "In 2006, Capcom released a wacky action Playstation 2 game titled God Hand. Despite mixed review scores, it became a cult hit. Don't expect Capcom to continue publishing God Hand games in the future, however."

PS2 News from N4G | Resident Evil 4
PS2 - Resident Evil 4 - Bring Back Outbreak Campaign HellDescent writes: "Members of Capcom-Unity have created a campaign to bring Resident Evil: Outbreak to modern consoles. The fans either want a port/remake or a completely new sequel to the Outbreak series. There's a multitude of links to petitions and even avatar and signature images to help promote the cause further. Resident Evil 5 was all about partners and teamwork but a modern Outbreak would be fantastic. Something along the lines of a more serious and scary Left 4 Dead would be great. So check out the thread and give them your support."

PS2 News from N4G | Warriors Orochi 2
PS2 - Warriors Orochi 2 - Retail Scoop: New Releases Week of August 25, 2009 TripleChat is happy to bring you the new releases each week for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable. Along with all the new releases for each console; TripleChat also gives the scoop on what to expect in new bluray movies and how hyped you should be to either upgrade from DVD or buy for the first time.

This Week: For those who wanted to see a selection of new games instead of just one (unlike the past 2 weeks), gamers are in luck. The selection is pretty one-side but that's beside the point. This week the much anticipated release of Batman Arkham Asylum is finally here for PS3 users. On the PSP front - the semi-hyped up DISSIDIA Final Fantasy comes out as well as Warriors Orochi 2. New for the PS2 is the sequel of Mana Khemia and this week on PSN TripleChat can confirm the release of Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao.

Bluray wise, another solid week for TV show fans as Smallville (one of the first shows to go blu) releases its latest season and FOX's new drama Lie to Me makes its debut. On the movie front there is a non-Twilight related Kristen Stewart flick from the director of the insane comedy Superbad. And from the makers of the low-budget, but highly praised Little Miss Sunshine, the lovely Amy Adams stars in Sunshine Cleaning. For fans of the Devil May Cry video game franchise, the complete anime series makes its mark this week (exclusively on bluray).

Also posted are a few good incentive into buying this week's releases but nothing any gamer should be too excited about.

PS2 News from N4G | Resident Evil 4
PS2 - Resident Evil 4 - Resident Evil: Afterlife Date Changed Hell Descent writes:
Paul W.S. Anderson's next Resident Evil film will not be releasing in September as previously stated, but a little earlier on August 27th. Apparently Anderson who is both the writer and director has been researching nearly every 3D film to hit the big screen to be ready for his first foray into the 3rd dimension of cinema. Our guess is that he needs to find some ways to incorporate 3D scenes without forcing them. Since Afterlife is supposed to be a reboot, we'll just pretend Extinction never happen and pray this film stays at least a mile from the source material.
