PS2 News | Final Fantasy XII
On 16 March Final Fantasy XII was released for PS2 in Japan and, within just four days, managed to sell a walloping 1.76 million copies. It's a figure that puts the long-awaited RPG outrageously far ahead of Animal Crossing DS, the next bestselling game, with 71,000 copies. Should we be at all surprised, given that Japanese gamers seem to exist on a diet that's so rich in vitamins R, P and G? Final Fantasy X recently topped a poll run by Japanese magazine Famitsu, asking its readers to vote ...

PS2 News | FlatOut 2
Monday 5 June 2006 We've got the latest shots of FlatOut 2 - the game for those who like to drive without due care and attention. The sequel manages to combine over-the-top action with incredible physics, the resulting experience being a brutish hard-hitting racer that's more sophisticated than you'd think. They'll be 40 tracks to batter around, each one made up a destructible environment that allows you to cut corners wherever you see fit. Each of the 16 cars is fully destructible but, ...

PS2 News | FlatOut 2
The only thing better than tearing ass around a racetrack is doing it with murderous intent. That's why we like these nasty new screens from FlatOut 2 - they put the car in carnage. While the game will certainly get a lot of attention for its sadistic minigames, there's still a track-based demolition racer in there, too, and these new screens show more of that core gameplay. Vivendi plans to release FlatOut 2 in July, so we expect more grisly glimpses between now and then. June 2, ...

Moving away from tracks and urban streets, Off Road will chart rugged, tough terrain for the first time in the series.

PS2 News | Ford Off Road
We've had a few Ford racing games over the past few years, but the series has now gone completely off the road. In a good way, that is. The tentatively-titled Ford Off Road will feature 24 tracks over three environments - forest, desert and mountain - and offer 12 different race modes. You'll be driving officially licensed Ford rally vehicles, SUVs and Land Rover off road vehicles. You know, the ones that work in mud. Apparently, the game will finally let the vehicles collect dirt and grime - ...
