PS2 News | Black
With the release of Black less than a month away, EA has unleashed a batch of new pics of the shoot-'em-up. The FPS, which has been developed by British studio Criterion (best known for the Burnout series), looks set to take console shooters to a new level with its hard-boiled attitude and remarkable effects. Black is a refreshingly straightforward shooter: these new screenshots feature all the on-screen information that appears in the game, which is just ammo and health. There's no ...

PS2 News | BMX XXX
An overwhelming majority of gamers are male, so it makes perfect sense for every marketing team in the world to target their software at young guys. And what do all men ages 18 to one zillion love? Girls, gore and big loud machines. If they could make a game about a firefighting bikini squad that hunts down zombies in a decked-out sex/fire truck, world peace would be declared. But until that day, we have to settle with regular old T & A. Developers are well aware of this, so occasionally ...

PS2 News | Boogie
Sept 5, 2007 The singing, dancing, rhythm-action game is no longer exclusive to Wii - as new versions are bound for PS2 and DS before the end of the year. Here's what the DS version looks like. Boogie on DS comes packaged with 3D glasses - something we last got free in Kellogg's Cornflakes about a billion years ago when Jaws 3D came out at the cinema - so you can view the game in, er, 3D - while wearing the glasses - and it features new modes and mini-games. (Note to self: don't wear the ...

PS2 News from N4G | Boogie
PS2 - Boogie - Boogie not a Wii Exclusive, Coming To PlayStation 2 While EA's Boogie for Wii is seeing few game critics singing (and interpretively dancing) its praises, according to a new listing on game rental service GameFly, the game may have another opportunity to underwhelm gamers, this time on the PlayStation 2. The listing, rooted out by Siliconera, shows a November 15th release, making a pre-Thanksgiving cash grab very likely.

PS2 News from N4G | Bratz: Forever Diamondz
PS2 - Bratz: Forever Diamondz - FIFA Ousts Gears Of War From Top Of UK Charts There have been no new entries in the UK top ten this week, but considerable movement, as soccer simulation FIFA 07 moves up three places to reclaim the number one spot. The PlayStation 2 version is now outselling Pro Evolution Soccer 6 on PlayStation 2 by a factor of 3:2, while the Xbox 360 version of Konami's title is outselling its FIFA 07 equivalent by the same ratio.

Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War was the most obvious victim in the shuffle of positions, with sales down by 45 percent on its debut week ¿ although it remains the only single format exclusive in the top ten.

Meanwhile, the newly released PlayStation 2 version of Call of Duty 3 kept the game afloat in the top ten for Activision, while the new Xbox 360 version of movie tie-in Cars did the same for THQ. Girl's toy license Bratz: Forever Diamondz proved to have the best week in the top ten though, with sales up by 45 percent ¿ led by the Nintendo DS version which accounted for 80 percent of all sales for the title.

Outside of the top ten, Nintendogs: Labrador & Friends re-entered as high as number thirteen, making for five Nintendo published titles in the top twenty. The highest new entry though was PlayStation 2 exclusive Guitar Hero II at number sixteen, which sold almost three times more than during its predecessor's debut. Home console movie tie-in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Legend of Jack Sparrow re-entered at number twenty-three, boosted by sales of the DVD release of the movie.

There was no place however for other Christmas titles such as Warhammer: Mark of Chaos from Namco Bandai/Deep Silver, Cricket 07 from Electronic Arts, Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Party Edition from Eidos, Sonic the Hedgehog from Sega or movie tie-in Happy Feet from Midway. Many of these titles stand a good chance of charting in the top forty next week, although others will no doubt be lost in the traditional Christmas rush of new titles.
