"Okay gamers, time to get your friends together for an additional competition from Atari regarding the great Alone In The Dark game due for release early July. You need to form the largest group of friends in Facebook and 'Keep The Home Fires Burning' in order to win some excellent prizes.

The flame of the 'Keep the Fire Burning' competition is being passed on to Facebook following the launch of the original competition on the official Alone in the Dark website www.CentralDark.com. The competition will run until 31 July 2008 with prizes including Xbox 360 and Wii consoles, and Alone in the Dark original soundtrack CDs.

Atari today announced that development is complete on the highly anticipated action survival game Alone in the Dark, and the game is on track to ship 3 July in Australia and New Zealand for Xbox 360TM game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PC, Wii and PlayStation® 2. Senior producer Nour Polloni explained that the PS3 version "is not performing as well on PS3" in terms of frame rate, but reassured PS3-owners that it's "not that far off".

Polloni revealed that despite the delay, both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Alone in the Dark will contain the same content.

Here's a compilation of videos from the upcoming Alone In The Dark game, only about one month away from release (6/24/08). One of the unique features of the survival horror game is how videos will be used to set the stage for gameplay. Video clips will be presented when saved games are launched to recap what happened. The game also promises to keep players in suspense with a teaser video when players exit out of the game.

GameStop is offering a free t-shirt and soundtrack with all editions (wiht pre-orders). The Xbox 360 version also gets an additional $10 off.

Atari and MILAN RECORDS recently announced the May 24, 2008 release of the soundtrack to the highly anticipated survival-horror game, Alone in the Dark. The score was composed by Olivier Deriviere and performed by, Grammy Award-winning choir The Mystery of Bulgarian Voices.

Regarding the music of Alone in the Dark, Nick Bobetsky, VP Sales and Marketing, MILAN RECORDS said, "For its first release of a video game soundtrack, Milan Records is very proud to be associated with such a classic series as Alone in the Dark. This is an original and powerful soundtrack, which goes beyond what you would normally expect in a video game."

Alone In The Dark will be available on the Xbox 360, Wii, PC, and PS2 on June 24, 2008. A PLAYSTATION 3 release is also coming, although the release date has not been confirmed.

A downloadable demo for the Xbox 360 edition of Alone in the Dark will not arrive until the title nears launch, according to a forum post from Atari Europe community administrator Tenebra.

Tenebra had previously indicated that a demo was in the planning stages for PC, X360 and PS3, with a debut planned for early May. Claiming they were given incorrect information, the administrator later clarified that an Xbox 360 demo would hit around the game's release, with "no confirmations on other formats."
