  • Namco have released a slew of new shots of Tekken 5, the latest game in the classic beat-'em-up series. The roster of 31 characters so far includes Bruce Irvin, Anna Williams, Eddy Gordo plus an as-yet-unnamed sumo wrestler. Other new characters include Raven, who specialises in kicks; Asuka Kazama, a female related to Jun; and kung fu exponent Feng Wei.As you can tell by these shots, the gameplay focus is on over-the-top attacks, with less of Tekken 4's realism-based moves. There's also talk
  • Gooooallll! The first shots of Winning Eleven 8 (Pro Evolution 4 to European pundits) are in and while we can't see anything new in the two screens, we're beginning to feel that Pro Evo tingle all over again.Very little is known about this new instalment of the finest football game ever but we're aware that the Master League mode will now boast 130+ teams - a significant increase over Pro Evo 3's 64. The only other tidbit is that a new "growth and decline" mechanism is being introduced -
  • Based on the excellent film Fight Club, Vivendi's beat-'em-up of the same name is being developed for PS2 and Xbox and first impressions are very promising. Unashamedly brutal and gritty, it features that one element most beat-'em-ups spurn - body damage that affects subsequent gameplay. Ooooh, we like. The game not only uses the film settings and action (naturally, seeing as it involves fisticuffs) but also follows the story. The element that has us excited is the aforementioned damage aspect.
  • Namco's recently released financial earnings statement has revealed a few details on the next instalment of Tekken. Most notably, the console release of Tekken 5 will be a PS2-exclusive and will go on sale in 2005.The first official did state that the game was coming to consoles, which fuelled speculation that maybe, just maybe, it would make it to Xbox. Unsurprisingly, that isn't the case and, once again, only Sony's console will host Namco's finest pugilists. However, we wouldn't entirely
  • Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow sees the continuation of stealthy maestro Sam Fisher's incognito exploits. It's already proven itself to be a AAA performer on Xbox and will soon be gracing PS2 and Gamecube. Check out these latest screenshots of the PS2 version for a visual update on how the conversion is going.Graphics and gameplay wise, the versions already released aren't that different from the original Splinter Cell (that's the prerogative of Splinter Cell 3 on PC). However, that's not the

  • Rockstar have released another one (er, count it!) new screenshot of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - marking the fourth screen we've seen from the game thus far.Like one of the that were revealed in mid-May, the image shows a young Converse-clad male perched atop a shiny BMX. In this case, it's the game's key protagonist Carl Johnson, who heads up local street gang the Orange Grove Families. We imagine they're a lot tougher than they sound.Further to our recent speculation, Rockstar have now
  • OK, so nobody's head flew clean off with the sheer excitement when GT4 head honcho Kazunori Yamauchi revealed the new Photo Mode last week but, hey, it's GT4! The first shot of this bizarrely self-indulgent mode in action at least shows us pretty much exactly how it'll work. A map allows you to position the car and camera to your no-doubt exacting compositional requirements, while controls for focus, aperture etc are reflected in the real-time preview. Once you're happy with the shot,
  • Here is the latest batch of Need for Speed Underground 2 screens and their focus is on night driving and customising your car. We now know that the game's free-roaming city is divided into five distinct neighbourhoods connected by drivable freeways. These districts offer a variety of driving conditions from serpentine suburban hills to downtown grids, in addition to the general varying nature of the game's roads, weather and hazards. As you'll note from the shots, customisation of your vehicle
  • Sony's Ami Blaire, speaking recently about The Getaway: Black Monday, said: "Team Soho has reached new heights in The Getaway with its unique cinematic narrative and realistic portrayal of London. Building on the success of the critically acclaimed original, The Getaway: Black Monday gives players the ambience and realism of film."So perhaps it comes as little surprise then to learn than the movie-inspired Getaway is in fact lined up to inspire a movie of its own, with Sony Pictures having
