After making a splash on GameCube, ninja-in-training Naruto Uzumaki is headed for a battle royale on the PlayStation 2. Naruto: Ultimate Ninja once again adapts the anime series into a one-on-one fighter, with Naruto and his Ninja Academy classmates battling for supremacy. Unlike the GameCube's Naruto: Clash of Ninja, however, Ultimate Ninja isn't a straight-up 3D fighter. It's a little closer to 2D, but the characters can jump between the different "layers" of each arena to attack from a safe

The publisher name may have changed slightly (what with the Namco-Bandai combo), but Bandai's fevered output of anime-licensed fighting games hasn't slowed one bit. Arriving hot on the heels of Naruto's third fighting game (Clash of Ninja 2, due out next month), Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles will put players in Naruto's shoes as he fends off fellow students and engages in "large-scale ninja combat." If you never see the point of buying every yearly update of EA's sports titles, EA's about to give you one: from September 1 it will begin shutting down the online servers for most of its 2006-edition sports titles. As of that date, the online gameplay options on games like FIFA World Cup 2006, NBA Live 06, Madden 06 and Tiger Woods 06 will be rendered useless on all formats including PC. This means you'll have to purchase the newer editions of the games to continue the fight via the web, or

In today's newly released teaser trailer, Electronic Arts has announced a new installment of the NBA Street series - and that's about it. The video makes a point that everyday people need relatable heroes and that idolized hero should be a basketball superstar who also stays true to his roots. Street fans'll just be happy to see the urban/aggressive NBA counterpart return. Right now, the game's being called, simply, NBA Street, which is sure to cause all kinds of fun Google and Ebay moments
