Bull in sheep's clothing Rockstar's upcoming "thug in a snooty school" simulation Bully has found itself the latest target of self-righteous parents' groups and opportunistic politicians determined to blame videogames for all the world's evils. Apparently, pretend swirlies and dodgeball are now as bad for our youth as virtual murder and muggings. So imagine the mess we're going to have to clean up when the game's oppressors' heads explode after seeing our new screens and the latest trailer -

While Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol was first announced back in May, we didn't get a real glimpse of the game until today. For the first time (since the disastrously awful American Idol rhythm game, anyway), fans of the TV show will be able to go from auditions to finals, singing to impress Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson (but not Paula Abdul, strangely) while competing to become the next semi-talented performer contractually obligated to sing in Ford

Wednesday 23 August 2006 We're starting to get the feeling that God Hand is some immense practical joke we haven't been let in on yet: an unlikely enough PS2 action game to begin with, with every new movie it becomes more surreal. Click the movies tab above for smack-talking, high-kicking hero Jean's latest run-ins with Wild West banditos, girl gangs, gorilla wrestlers, Shaolin monks, and vicious carnival performers. God Hand is a supreme slice of Japanese weirdness - to the extent that it's

Wednesday 23 August 2006 After being held in detention for almost a year, Bully is finally on track for a PS2 release, and Rockstar has released a second trailer of lead character Jimmy Hopkins' misadventures. Click the movies tab above to watch and, if you missed the game's first trailer, you can find it here. As well as the expected schoolyard hijinks and Rockstar-grade dialogue, the latest trailer hints at some of the gameplay types we can expect from the game: sadistic dodgeball and

Wii three Wii news, big and small: our British sister site has three interesting reports up. The first concerns 128 Marios, a game Nintendo mentioned (and even showed a demo of) that was originally in the works for the GameCube. Yeah, we weren't exactly expecting it to come out, at this point. But it turns out that 128 Marios, did, in fact, provide the underpinnings for Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii. You can check the UK story to find out more, but be careful - it says that Galaxy is

Just in time to cement hero Rico Rodriguez as this year's most unconventional CIA agent in a game, we've got new media for Just Cause's winning combination of tropical scenery and huge explosions. Check out these 360 stills of a stealthy infiltration, Rodriguez-style. As if gatecrashing a gentleman's club in the crater of a dormant volcano isn't high adventure enough, Just Cause will let you do it by throwing Rodriguez out of a perfectly good plane and paragliding in. Of course, you could

Buy three According to industry site GamesIndustry.biz, Electronic Arts believes that Nintendo will release the Wii for $170 - much cheaper than the $250 price bandied around by internet pundits. Executive VP and COO of EA's worldwide studios, David Gardner says, "I've heard in Japan that the price is about $170, but I don't know if the price has been set in Europe yet." That's pretty unbelievably cheap - it's only $40 more than a DS Lite, little more than half the price of a crappy hard-drive
