Hot pen love
Dave Navarro, one-time talented guitarist, now better-known as a shirtless, eyeliner-soaked media-whore, will be making at an appearance at a Best Buy shop in West Lost Angeles to celebrate Guitar Hero II's release. The guitarist, whose song Stop (originally recorded by Jane's Addiction and released in 1990) is included in the game, will sign plastic guitars for people who... want plastic guitars signed by Dave Navarro. If you live in Kenosha, Wisconsin, we're sure this is very

Maybe it's the "world's best selling PC games magazine" thing, but our comrades-in-arms down the hall at PC Gamer scored early access (way early) to the mega-RTS Supreme Commander beta. Greg "The Vede" Vederman has a quick-and-dirty "10 things I love about the Supreme Commander Beta" up on the PCGamer.com site. It's well worth a read - especially if you don't have to deal with listening to whooping, hollering and cheering all the damn day while trying to work - like we

Coming at you with more spin than Monty Panesar's left-handed doosra, EA has released the first screens from its forthcoming PS2 and PC belter Cricket 07.
So with Freddie Flintoff on promotional duties and on the box, Cricket 07 will appear with all the timing of one of his hook shots on 24 November 2006. Which, if the sound of leather-on-shin pad has drowned out the thud of leather-on-willow in your ears, just happens to be the day after the Ashes begins. And, on

Video game fans unfortunate enough to have seen the terrible '90s Street Fighter movie, get ready for more pain. Next Generation reports that a new film based on the popular fighting game series is underway, with a story focused on popular Chinese fighter Chun-Li. We went to IMDB to check out this "Justin Marks" character and it turns out he's written the script for a Voltron film that's due out in 2008. Do you ever feel like our species is doomed - and deserves it?
And then
The first fire-breathing screens of movie-based slasher Eragon have hatched from their egg. Previously announced on nearly every format since the Atari 2600, these particular visual gems were laid by Stormfront Studios, the developer of the console version, and creator of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. To see them all, click the Images tab above.
Instead of being a hard-boiled hacker, this all-action fighter allows you to not only take on the enemy in cooperative combat but also to
The rumor has finally come true, for today publisher Eidos has confirmed that the original Tomb Raider will be remade and renamed as Tomb Raider: Anniversary. And to celebrate this being 10 years since Lara's 1996 debut, the remake will appear on PS2, PC and PSP in, um... 2007.
Being billed as "a completely new gameplay experience," Anniversary will use an enhanced version of the engine beneath Tomb Raider: Legend and promises to do more than merely shove the original title through a

Granted, GamesRadar staffers rarely turn down a party invitation, but when Sony asked if we'd like to come over and play some PlayStation 3 games, we more or less shouted, "Hell, yes!" Even if we weren't excited, we'd do it for you - if you're die-hard enough to burn hours of your life persevering in a line full of probably-annoying strangers standing in sure-to-be-craptastic weather for your right to plunk down something like eight thousand dollars for

Sony has announced what games will be available on the PS3's PlayStation Store on the system's November 11 Japan launch, and it's a little better than we expected... and a little worse. What do we mean? Well, the good stuff is downloadable, original games, including Blast Factor (pictured above), flOw and Lemmings, which we expect in the US. There are also two puzzle games: Kazuo (which looks like Sudoku to our untrained eye) and the imaginatively titled Puzzle, which
SOCOM, the military-themed shooter series that launched online gaming on the PS2, is once again headed for stores on Nov. 7, this time with a two-part attack. Hitting simultaneously, SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Combined Assault for the PS2 and SOCOM: US Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 for the PSP would be a dead heat in a longest-title-ever contest. But more than that, they'll sync up Sony's console and its handheld like never before, featuring parallel storylines that can change on one platform depending
