NBA Live 08 feels a lot more like an homage to hoops games of the recent past than a forced, forward-thinking "let's see what else we can tinker with now" title. You know what? That's just fine by us. After all, just because you can change something doesn't mean that you have to. While its mildly choppy visuals hold it back from greatness, its relative simplicity makes that much easier to take - to the hoop, that is. Repeatedly, and with much success. Just the way it should be.
