A furious comeback saves the day for the venerable hoops series

Visually, as you'd expect, the Xbox version runs smoother and looks crisper. Controller wise, though, we prefer the PS2, since icon-based passing is our favorite and using the L2 trigger instead of the black button to set that up is infinitely better. Regardless of version, player "skating" seems to have finally been left to NHL 07.

The arena sounds are darned fine too, and our man Marv Albert provides his trademark voice that lends a lot of cred. Yes, Marv’s had some issues in the past, but he’s still the best announcer in the basketball biz.
