Mortal Kombat: Deception - nasty new screens

A shiny new look for the beat-'em-up classic that had crowds of kids yelling 'Finish him!'

The latest screens of Midway's Mortal Kombat: Deception illustrate that the series' infamous gore factor remains intact (although slightly disembowelled). Brutality is key to MK titles but this incarnation also boasts rather cute mini-games to help you relax between spine-ripping fatalities.

Besides the martial art fight fest, weapon-based combat also plays a part, plus multi-tiered interactive stages will allow for some interesting tactics. What every fan of the franchise wants is cool, body-wrenching death moves, though, and you'll be glad to hear that each character has multiple fatalities.

Mortal Kombat Deception is scheduled to hit the streets in the autumn on PS2 and Xbox
