Konami America recently reported that it will close US online servers for the game but Konami Europe will keep them alive. A post on Konami's website reads: "The European MGS3 Subsistence Servers will stay online. Indeed, Konami recently announced a dedicated league system - www.MGS3LEAGUE.com - which will continue to provide services for fans of the game." Monday 17 July 2006 October 2006 will see the release of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence which will mark Solid Snake's last outing on PlayStation 2.
