When it was first released, the orignal Mercenaries was banned in South Korea because of the tensions between the southern and the northern territories, meaning that any media showing conflict between the two was deemed illegal. Mercenaries was a superb achievement on Xbox and PS2 when it was released in 2005. The destructible environments, go-anywhere and drive-anything gameplay was like GTA in a warzone. But the sandbox style of game has been done so many times now, its sequel is going to have to do a lot more than that if it's going to remain relevant. Mercenaries 1 and mercenaries 2 have their differences, for starters 2 has new vechicles and weapons, but in 1 you can have as many items or vechicles delivered to you. I personaly think that Mercenaries 2: World in flames is worth buying.

This game is pretty good, I have it on ps2. Some parts are challanging but that makes it fun, just about everything can be destroyed. I just got it yeasterday and trying to get the helecopter is a pain,but once I have it that will be awsome.
