Need another Guitar Hero?

[PS2] Encore, World Tour and Axe Grinder sequels rumoured

Friday 18 August 2006
Four more Guitar Hero games are rumoured to be in the works, including Guitar Hero: ReAmped, Guitar Hero: Encore, Guitar Hero: World Tour and Guitar Hero: Axe Grinder.

Since publisher Activision recently forked out $100 million to snap up RedOctane - the distributor of the original Guitar Hero - we'd be mightily surprised if more riff-tastic treats weren't on the way. However, it's just as likely that these names are nothing more than working titles, with the eventual games to feature different monikers.

We contacted publisher Activision but it "won't comment on rumour and speculation".

Guitar Hero II is heading for a PS2 release later this year, following the success of the original fret-busting hit, and boasts such classic finger-burning hits as You Really Got Me (Van Halen), War Pigs (Black Sabbath) and Sweet Child O' Mine (Guns 'n' Roses).
