Guitar Hero controller lock out?

[PS2] Sequel demo won't work with third-party controllers

Tuesday 17 October 2006
A demo of Guitar Hero II, the sequel to PS2's riff-matching music game, refuses to work with third-party guitar controllers designed for use with the original game.

The demo, included with the latest copy of Official PlayStation Magazine in the US, fails to recognise third-party controllers like those produced by The Ant Commandos, according to reports from gamers on rhythm-action gaming obsessed forum bemanistyle.com, although official Guitar Hero controllers work without a problem.

We're hunting down a comment from US publisher Red Octane - who, coincidentally, design and produce third-party dance mats for Konami title Dance Dance Revolution - and we'll update you with their response as soon as we get it.
