Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus

EXCLUSIVE: It's coming to the West! First look at the new modes and features in Guilty Gear's latest chapter

Accent Core Plus will also feature some new tweaks to the Survival mode, which will let you level-up your favorite characters. You can earn experience by dealing damage and unlock special abilities by defeating bosses. Create extremely overpowered characters with bonuses like the ability to deal extra damage or regenerate your health during battle. These uber fighters will only be playable in the Survival mode, but the option to build them up and customize their abilities is a refreshing twist on the norm.

Above: There’s good grinding and bad grinding. This is definitely the good kind. Leveling-up feels fun and doesn’t get too repetitive

Kliff and Justice were not available in the last Accent Core. These powerful characters were left off the fighting roster because they were just too awesome. But both badasses are back in Accent Core Plus with bagfuls of overpowered moves and combos. Check out their over-the-top Instant Kill moves in the exclusive videos below.

It’s nice to see that the PS2 is still getting some love in its final years with polished fighters like Accent Core Plus. And while Accent Core Plus doesn’t look or feel dramatically different from the previous Accent Core, we’ve got to give it up to the developer and publisher for including so many extras for this title, which many fans didn’t expect to see released in the West. In addition to the bonus soundtrack and extra goodies, there will also be a new Team VS mode, which will let you pit a team of three characters against a friend or the CPU.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus is expected to release for the PS2 sometime this spring. A Wii and PSP version of Accent Core Plus is also in the works. Expect more news on the latest Guilty Gear as the game’s debut draws nearer.

Awesome news!! Guilty Gear owns the 2D fighting scene! Now all we need is the announcement of a PS3 version of Blazblue!

I want Guilty Gear X3. Liek, nao.

But the extra soundtrack CD makes me consider buying this...again. The X2 soundtrack is sooooo good.

OK, I just have to ask--how many different Guilty Gear rehashes have we endured? This is gettin' ridiculous.

I just watched Kliff and Justice's moves and I thought, "Wow, hasn't changed in almost a decade."
