Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Don't buy it until you've read PSM2's FIRST UK review... and prepare to be shocked

Shudderingly comprehensive, divinely paced and - despite the million of words already written in feverish anticipation - it has the ability to surprise at every turn. This is PS2's defining masterpiece - a sunspot of rare polished magic from experienced developers working at the peak of their powers. You'll forgive San Andreas its myriad tiny flaws because few games in history have been this polished, or - above all - such magnificent, transcendent fun.
You'll love
  • Gigantic and a blast to explore
  • No shortage of fun things to do
  • CJ an extremely likable anti-hero
You'll hate
  • Combat is still clunky
  • The graphics are still ugly and blocky
  • Hot Coffee no longer served
