It's everyone's favorite time of the year again, when thousands of overcaffeinated journalists descend upon E3 with their live-blogged, 2000-word diatribes on the most minor of details. The objects of their unending speculation? The biggest games of the show, which, oddly enough, have been known to the gaming press for months and will surprise literally no one.

Unsung, underrated and unbelievably good. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

So many sequels, so much hype, so little time... Let our foolproof guide help you cut through the crap before it's even released

We sadly lost F1 97's developer Bizarre Creations under the wheels of the Activision juggernaut earlier this year. I still can't believe such a fate could befall the team that made this incredible game. So, with our review of F1 2011 imminent, what better time than now to take a look back at one of the greatest F1 games ever seen?

We recently took issue with the claim that “gaming has not yet had its Citizen Kane”. As you can see, we managed to find 25 games that qualified for that title – and you had plenty more suggestions besides.

We’d have had no trouble whipping up a counter-list of dismal flops.

We all know that 24 is the highest number, so therefore this must be biggest, best, super bestest podcast of all time. We’ll let you decide whether or not math is capable of lying so’s we can focus on talking about Far Cry 2, Midnight Club: LA, Tetris Party, Castlevania and the billion other games out this week.

Plus a very special appearance by our “E” rated reviewer and compromising tales of us effing up

Right, Darth Vader is Luke’s father, Bruce Willis is dead in the Sixth Sense, Brad Pitt and Edward Norton are the same person in Fight Club. There, we’ve just ruined three movies for you. We’re fairly sure you won’t care about us ruining these plot twists by the end of this article, though, as we’re about to spill the beans on 80 (some potentially game-ruining) spoilers.
