6. Kudara, Otogi: Myth of Demons (Xbox, 2003)

Dreamy Xbox slasher Otogi: Myth of Demons is a magic moment from start to too-early finish, pulling some pretty impressive bosses out of its Japanese mythology grab-bag on the way.

While not quite as daunting as the nailed-down Demon God, it's the early encounter with a monstrous electrically-charged centipede, Kudara, that was truly a boss with the Power of X.

Above: It's the boss equivalent of a game of chicken - don't slash until you see the whites of his tonsils.

Encircling his Zen garden graveyard like a homicidal Slinky, the only way to bring Kudara down is by timing a last-minute dive out of the way of his jaws and slapping him upside the head - usually resulting in a shower of lightning for your troubles.

You missed two big bosses here: The heartless in KH2 in the Lion King world and (this one is just so obvious!?!) the final boss from Rogue Galaxy (this thing is bigger then a couple of the others you mentioned and is awesome-looking.

How about the Death Star from the end of Star Wars (the original Arcade version). What boss could be bigger than a planet?

A bit easy and lacking in personality, though.

woohoo! shadow of the colossus!!! yeah, i always feel guilty after killing a colossus... except the last one, he was just just an evil bastard. but where was kingdom hearts in this list for darkness(that giant heartless u fight at the start and the end of the game) and the huge heartless monster that ansem transforms into at the end?

I never had the pleasure of playing shadow of the colossus. For some reason i never got around to playing it. I'm kind of regretting it after seeing that massive colossus.

Dude. Shadow of the Colossus was just plain /Win/. In every sense of the term. You'd think from the start "Oh Jeez! It can only get bigger!" But then they throw all sorts of sizes at you, and all you have is a Petty Sword and a Bow. Not including the Time attack stuff. That stuff is damn near impossible at that too.

I still think God of War has done bigger than the Hydras, though that's technically what started it for the God of War Series. The Colossus of Rhodes was just plain Huge. You walked around /inside of it/.
