Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly

The 7 least-scary moments in scary games

Even the creepiest survival-horror loses its edge eventually - we'll show you how

Words: Mikel Reparaz, GamesRadar US

6. Resident Evil 4 (GC, PS2) - Giant midget statue
Resident Evil 4 not only revolutionized the RE series - it changed perceptions of what a survival-horror game could be. But like all the other games in this feature, even it had moments when mind-blowing horror gave way to abject silliness. Our personal favorites were the comic excesses of pint-sized villain Ramon Salazar, including a colossal statue carved in his own petite image:

It was obvious just from looking at this thing that it was eventually going to chase us, so when it finally broke free from its moorings and lumbered in our direction, we couldn't keep from laughing. It was creepy, maybe, but compared to the rest of the monsters that inhabit the game, it wasn't exactly scary.

So the jesters were the ones that killed it for you? It wasn't the fact that the two teenage leads acted like such idiots that if they had died, instead of the bad guys, it would definitely have been worth cheering about?

Numb Bodies scared me because of the fear of that clammy gross skin coming into contact with mine. *Shudder*
