TalkRadar 21 – riddles, rudeness and reviews

After solving gaming's stupidest puzzles, we tackle the most important farty butts along with Call of Duty, Spider-Man and James Bond

Words: Brett Elston, GamesRadar US

This is officially the longest TalkRadar to date – but what a value! You’ll hear us attempt to solve the worst puzzles in history (most are from PC adventure games), talk up gaming flatulence, even trade horror stories involving bodily functions and a certain bathroom apparatus.

If you’re not one for potty humor, you should listen anyway because there’s lots of talk about the next Call of Duty (World at War), Spider-Man (Web of Shadows) and Bond shooter (the very GoldenEye-esque Quantum of Solace). Whoa, actual games!

TOPICS

Top 7... stupidest puzzles – “stupid” is a bit too polite for these illogical atrocities

Gaming’s most important farty butts – the article Chris was born to write

Tales from the Toilet – in the spirit of the above article, Chris and Brett share nasty tales while Charlie and Mikel listen in horror

Question 5: Reveal your tales of gaming drunkenness – 21 and up only!

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows – you mean this might be good?

Call of Duty: World at War – competitive co-op FTW

PLUS – Check OXM’s podcast. Last week’s guest Dan Amrich runs a game show seemingly built just for Mikel, who creams PlayStation: The Official Magazine’s EIC Rob Smith. Maybe next time!

@BHT128: I was working late at night earlier this week, and the Prince mannequin is right next to my desk. So I put the GamesRadar t-shirt on it, and then immediately began to worry that giving it clothing would somehow awaken it from its deathlike slumber and allow it to murder me. So I did what any sensible, 21st-century man of science would do: I fled the building.

We've since tried to marginalize the thing by putting it in goofy clothes and masks and shoving it to the back of the room, in the hope that it'll look less creepy when we see it out of the corners of our eyes. Nothing works.

So the answer to your question is "yes."

My mother has a similar item, although it is a massive Uncle Sam clock. I definately know how you feel. I just know if I turn around that freak is staring at me and contemplating my murder...

I worked at a gamestop in NJ and YES it's true they are kept in the bathroom. I know of 2 gamestops within a mile of each other that both have consoles in their bathrooms.

Awwww. The Prince of Persia statue is awesome!

Also, I don't think your spam stopper likes GamesRadar very much. The words I had to type to post this were "linear" and "remarks".
GamesRadarBrettElston - 1 month 15 days ago
Mighty Avengers, eh? Guess that makes sense, as I didn't read the story in question because I haaaaate when Marvel spams symbiotes all over the place (see Separation Anxiety). I was reading NA for a while, hate the artist (who's now doing Secret Invasion) and thus quit reading it too.

Call me old fashioned, but I like "Avengers" to mean Cap, Iron Man, Vision, Thor etc. And can we please finally get rid of Sentry?

Good God, the poo stories were, in a word, horrific! But, I guess that's what we get for having drunk editors talk about the "farticle", LOL...
