Nobody likes to see a Game-Over screen. As if knowing you suck isn’t bad enough, some games rub it in by torturing you with really annoying Game-Over screens. What could be worse than having to watch your demise from multiple angles, or sitting through the same long-ass cutscene of the world ending every time you fail? Tack one of these onto a tough boss fight, and you have a perfect formula for gamer rage. We’ve hand-picked this lot of Game-Overs that are irritating enough to be hilarious (when you’re not suffering through them repeatedly in the actual game.) Enjoy the show!

I'm pretty sure it was in the cheesiest game songs article. If it wasn't in the article itself, they definitely played it on the podcast when talking about it.

Isn't the Too Human death sequence supposed to be really irritating?

My fave deaths are the classic Metal Gear Solid and also State of Emergency's "You've been killed!"

Hmm I think Crisis Core FFVII was pretty annoying since dying = re-load game and you can't skip movies...so you are up to a boss that will kick your #$%^ just to wait 5 more minutes before trying again.

The real issue is how goddamn long it takes. You die, and lie on the ground for about 30 seconds. Then this metallic-ass Valkyrie thing comes down and slowly carries you off to Asgard or wherever. Valhalla, that's it.

It's like Mass Effect's elevators became sentient.

dont know why, bur GTA 4's death screens always piss me off. I dont want to watch the damn cops back over my dead ass in grayscale slowmotion, i just want to go blow more shit up!

the mario sunshine game over is just... ah i hate it so much, some of those levels were so damn frustrating and when your right near the shine and then theres a "waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.... DO DO DO DO DO DO DOOOOOOOOO" FUCK!!!

i dunno man. i would say mass effect is the worst one. not only is it slow and you get to listen to a creepily ominous tune, you also have to lose up to an hour of gameplay if you didn't manually save. i love the game but i don't know what the developers were thinking when they made the world's most shittyest auto-save feature.

should have had the resident evil 4 game over and the final fantasy 1 and 2 game overs- i says the party has been defeated...than you go back to the main menu and all you progess has been lost since ur manual save(NO Autosave? WTF?!)

Majora's Mask was super annoying. I also found Super Monkey Ball annoying. If you ever lost a mini-game it would yell "You Loose!!!" in a really annoying voice.

The only annoying part of Majora's mask is if you arent smart enough to play the song of time when theres a freaking timer going at the bottom of the screen,then you get crushed by the moon!the regular game over is quick and just says game over.
