Marvel vs. DC: the games

Which superhero game is right for you? Marvel Ultimate Alliance or Justice League Heroes? Look no further

Unlockables

Superheroes are a secretive bunch, and it's your job in both these games to unearth their secrets. In both cases, the secrets are more heroes and costumes for you to earn. Having more friends and more threads is always is a good things.

Justice League Heroes: There are some great heroes for you to unlock in this game. Green Arrow, Hawgirl, Huntress and Aquaman are just a few. The costumes might be even cooler. For example, you can change your Wally West Flash to the Golden Age Jay Garrick or futuristic Walter West. Superman's Kryptonian recovery suit is quite cool and dressing up Wonder Woman in a toga is just hot. The alternate costumes have some nice side effects, too: one of your stats is boosted whenever you use an alternate costume, but there's a tradeoff in one of your other stats as well.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance: You can unlock The Silver Surfer. That's just too cool! Black Panther, Daredevil and Nick Fury are some of the other unlockable characters. Each hero has a number of uniforms that can be earned through play time or through bonus missions. Each has unique properties that can be leveled up. The costumes range from modern outfits to versions from the Ultimate universe to old duds from The Secret Wars and more.

The Winner: Yeah, it might be a cop out, but the winner is you! It's a tie here, boys and girls. Both games do a great job with unlockables, adding additional content that's fun for longtime comics fans and have a practical impact in the gameplay. The Marvel game has more unlockables because there are just more characters, but the DC secrets are just as cool.
