Although there have been umpteen "fans-only " (read: deplorable) games based on the Dragon Ball animated series, last year's Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi was a step in the right direction, delivering a fast, accessible fighting experience that you didn't have to be a fan to enjoy. Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is the same game at heart, but it packs in a raft of new additions, refinements and improvements. For this round, you can fight as nearly 130 spiky-haired characters from ...
Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 - hands-on
We trade giant fireballs with the most definitive DBZ game until the next one
Oct 9, 2006
We've gone head-to-head with the spiky-haired aliens of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 once before, and we came away impressed. Since then, however, we've had a chance to play the hell out of a nearly finished version of the game - and we're still impressed. Like the first Tenkaichi, Tenkaichi 2 is a DBZ -flavored fighter that will enable you to fly around a huge, open arena and slam your opponent around with superfast martial-arts moves and gigantic fireballs. That's really about it, but ...   » Read Full Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 preview

The sequel - imaginatively titled Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 - is poised to build on the ...   » Read Full Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 preview

PS2: The biggest anime fighting game anywhere beefs up its roster again
May 9, 2006
Although they started off with some cripplingly rough edges (not that fans like to admit it), the Dragon Ball Z fighting games on PS2 have grown into their massively beloved subject matter. The last Tenkaichi finally gave the player the freedom to fly all over the battlefield, machine-gunning punches, kicks, and energy blasts toward their target and countering similar attacks with superhuman power - just like it should be. This sequel adds in the two things that DBZ die-hards really thought the ...   » Read Full Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 preview

It is pretty cool and the new characters they added are awesome. the new charging system where you can make your attacks stronger is what makes tenkaichi2 one of the best dbz games.
