Chicken Little: Ace in Action - first look

Bored with kiddie barnyard critters? Blast 'em into space

Chicken Little. Videogame adaptation. Sequel. Not exactly the most inspiring words, are they? However, after getting our first look at Chicken Little: Ace in Action, the second game to be based on the animated Disney flick, we're not ready to write it off just yet.

To begin with, the game you're afraid of was already created and released. And while you may or may not have played the original Chicken Little (it's okay - we won't judge), the big studio folks did and liked what they saw. So, with the rigidly faithful and predictable tie-in out of the way, they've given the developers of Ace in Action new freedom to explore the film's universe and characters in a more gamer-friendly manner.

Welcome to Chicken Little on steroids. In space. The nerdy bespectacled fowl has been replaced with slick super bird Ace - all ridiculous muscles and "try me" attitude. His even geekier girlfriend is now a voluptuous vixen with curves and lips you'll wish you'd never witnessed on a duck, while his nervous pig buddy has transformed into a rough and ready hulk. Together, they form the marquee-worthy crew of a galactic starship, cruising the solar systems in search of adventure.

These heroic alter egos only appear in five minutes of the actual movie - as a TV series based extremely loosely on Chicken Little and his gang - but the developers have wisely realized that the average gamer would rather control a laser gun-wielding space captain than a nugget with a slingshot.
