Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War

Grab the horizon by the balls

A two-player, split-screen versus mode returns from Ace Combat 04, but still no online play. No big loss, as the huge hangar of unlockable, customizable jets is more than enough to keep one player bombing away. The live-action cinemas that narrate the game's passable storyline are a cheesy, unnecessary addition, but the truth remains that for modern-era aerial action, there's no substitute for Ace Combat.

You'll love
  • Stomach-spinning dogfights from Hell
  • Huge roster of real, detailed aircraft
  • Cool fantasy enemies
You'll hate
  • Repeating the same mission types
  • Damn, those rivals are tough
  • No online multiplayer
