MotorStorm developer Evolution Studios has announced work on a new entry in their popular racing franchise, but don't expect to find the same explosive, off-road mayhem found in the other games in the series. Instead, they've scaled it down to a much, much smaller size. Much smaller. It's called MotorStorm RC, and, as the name implies, the downloadable game will switch out the trucks, bikes, and cars for tiny RC versions of the vehicles...

  • Arcade icon and Atari alumnus Ed Logg has been pegged to receive The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) 2012 Pioneer Award during the organization's 15th Annual Interactive Awards next February.

Logg is widely regarded as one of founder fathers of video gaming, having co-developed well known coin-op games for Atari such as Asteroids, Super Breakout, Centipede, and Gauntlet back in late '70s and early '80s. Logg also dabbled in the home console field, writing code for Tengen's version of Tetris for the NES, and later working on Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey and San Francisco Rush for the N64...

Namco Bandai has big plans for Sony’s next handheld. Not only will the PlayStation Vita have an appearance by Ridge Racer and the ninja-rific Shinobido 2, but it’ll also feature a new entry in the zany Katamari Damacy series. Though the controls for the game might be new, the franchise’s familiar irreverence is still there, as evidenced in this adorable new video for the Japanese release…

  • Hackers took a few months off after taking down the PlayStation Network and a number of other websites, but it appears their vacation is over. Only a week after defacing the Steam forums and digging into users' personal information, hackers have apparently targeted MyResistance and GlobalResistance, two Resistance websites run by Sony...

  • November has already been such a beast for game releases and we haven’t even hit the gaming Ragnarok of November 15, so you might have forgotten October was a pretty wild month for games too. Today the NPD group released sales for October and while we weren’t too shocked by the results, it at least highlighted what a huge month it was. And if we had to pick one winner for the month, it seems to be the 360...

  • You may have missed this, but basically every single game that matters is launching this month. And we’ve given out so many glowing reviews, we don’t blame you for wanting to jump in a midnight launch line immediately. But wait! You’re obviously forgetting the magical 24-hour period known as Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving when everything is on sale and people are trampled for a $99 HD TV. Today Best Buy’s Black Friday ad has leaked weeks ahead of time and includes some crazy deals that might cause you to delay some purchases.

  • As promised, Sony is currently prepping a system to allow gamers to transfer (transfar?) their PlayStation Portable games to the UMD-less PS Vita. Today, the publisher announced system to allow Japanese gamers to convert their physical games into digital form for download, but it's not as simple as you might think. First, they'll need to download a verification application from the PlayStation Network, which will then confirm that they have a physical copy of the game. Once verified, the games can be re-purchased from the PSN with a discount, and that discount varies from game to game. While some are free, others are somewhat pricy...

It's been a few months since Sony first unveiled Lil and Laarg, the greyscale heroes of the PlayStation Vita launch title Escape Plan. True, they don't look like your typical video game stars, but after seeing these two atypical mascots running amok in this new developer diary, you might be convinced to make Escape Plan a day one purchase...

Longtime fans of pro wrestling hate to see their favorite superstars retire, even if it’s so they can compete in mixed martial arts and become one of the most popular fighters in UFC history. That’s the case with Brock Lesnar who currently aims to get back the UFC Heavyweight title and is preparing for a match in December. But he’s still coming back to sports entertainment digitally, as he’s appearing in WWE '12, THQ’s next wrestling game. Why’d he decide to sort of return to the house of McMahon? This video interview has some answers...

  • Since Americans first purchased televisions, watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade has been as central to the holiday as turkey or arguing with your politically opposed family members. Games have been part of the celebration since 1993 when Sonic the Hedgehog became the first videogame character to have his own float in the parade. Now Sonic returns to the parade just in time for his 20th Anniversary, and for those that make a stink about the Modern Sonic/Classic Sonic distinction in Generations, this balloon reflects the green-eyed Sonic we’ve known since 1999.
