  • We suppose we all knew in our hearts that Activision was going to publish a game based on the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man film, but now we know for sure. Spotted at New York Comic Con was a poster advertising the title and, if the logos on the bottom are to be believed, it's being developed by Beenox, the team behind the last two Spider-Man games which were at best a mixed bag...

  • The list of best-selling games in the US this September was released by the NPD group today, and there were a few surprising entries, though it was mostly filled with the usual suspects. The top-selling game of September was technically Madden, but since that factors in sales across five different platforms, we're going to say the 360-exclusive Gears of War 3 is the real sales winner. Third place was taken by Dead Island, which is pretty impressive for a new franchise. Meanwhile, PS3-exclusive Resistance 3 had a good showing in the seventh spot; not bad for our game of the month for September. Here's the top 10 with no actual sales numbers as the NPD unhelpfully withholds those...

Though Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3’s roster additions were leaked as soon as the game was announced, it’s still cool to see the new characters in action, especially when it’s the star of a puzzle-based, lawyer game. Since we first found out Phoenix Wright was in UMVC3, we excitedly speculated just how a character known for talking and presenting evidence could beat up the Hulk. With today’s first videos of Ace Attorney gameplay (plus footage of Marvel’s top space knight, Nova), the mystery is revealed. TAKE THAT!

  • Sony Online Entertainment, Mojang Studios and Trion Worlds were among the top honorees at the Game Developers Choice Online Awards. Held last night during the GDC Online event in Austin, Texas the evening celebrated excellence in online gaming, and included the induction of Everquest into GDC's hallowed Hall of Fame, as well as industry recognition for Minecraft, Rift and a handful of other well-known multiplayer titles...

  • The new Men in Black movie might be experiencing production problems (word is the script needed mid-shoot rewrites, so you know it's good), but that hasn't stopped Activision from assembling together a team of highly-skilled agents to work on a game based on the franchise. Today, the Call of Duty publisher revealed that they're putting together a Men in Black game and aiming it for a Spring 2012 release date... as long as the movie finishes in time. You know, if they're able to find funny things for Will Smith to say as he shoots aliens and talks to a dog...

  • You know how DS and 3DS game cases are quite small compared to DVD-sized game cases? And how PSP game boxes are tall and thin? Well, there's no such concessions where the PS Vita is concerned. Pictures have emerged from Japan showing the new media's storage styling... and frankly they're disproportionately large considering the size of the game card. A bit like keeping a mindisc in the sleeve for a '78... not that I'm implying any impending obsolescence in the Vita's proprietary media. Erm... let's see these pictures then, shall we?

  • Remember how PSP Go was supposed to let you transfer UMD games onto the system's hard drive? Well, it never happened. The closest we got was a reward scheme that let you get some free games if you registered any single UMD, even though the message that flashed up on the screen said 'you may now download this game from the PlayStation Store'. Well, it's all coming back, only this time with Vita, if rumours are to be believed. Only this time, suggestions are that you can pay a small fee and transfer any game.

Trendy Entertainment’s newest title Dungeon Defenders has got a sweet package thanks to some help from Valve. By pre-ordering the toon shaded tower defense game on Steam, you’ll get an Aperture Science’s portal device for the huntress hero class and four Team Fortress 2 familiars to assist your team…

There have been so many character reveals for Street Fighter X Tekken, and the game is coming out soon enough that you might think the devs are out of characters to tease, right? Then Capcom surprises you by dropping three new teaser trailers for multiple fighters in the crossover battler. But just who do these allude to? Some seem fairly obvious, others are real head scratchers. See for yourself…

Only a cynical soul like He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named could resist the charms of the LEGO games. True, they're not for everyone in terms of gameplay, but come on, it's little toy people re-enacting scenes from famous movies. Adorable, right? No? See if this debut trailer for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 does anything to melt your cold, curmudgeonly heart...
