Wait, WHAT!??!?!? No. The PS3 is in pretty much the exact same spot now that the PS2 was then. It's got a year (or a yearandahalf more likely) until the PS4. Not that much different than the PSP/PS2 comparison. And Sony most certainly wasn't giving up on the PS2. In fact, they touted Microsoft's dumping of the original xbox as an example of why a Playstation is a better investment. Sorry, but you're completely wrong on this. Now... a PS3 now is still a higher-end machine than the PS2 was then, but that's only because, well, we all know why the PS3 is underutilized.

And I love how you talk about how "$250 isn't as much as it used to be" in this article but list "the economy is a mess" in another article as a reason why Sony should do well. Seriously, which is it?

Math tells me that that much money, in cash ($100 bills please), would weigh slightly more than the Titanic.

Why does everyone say pre-NGE? The proper term is pre-CU. I can't fathom anyone LIKING the CU! Character classes, removal of specific XP, ugh... the CU was the first GIGANTIC step to horrendous-ness. pre-CU SWG is what we need.

(I was a merchant/mayor/musician/architect so yeah... the CU hit me pretty damned hard. CL0. I was getting slaughtered by bunnies whenever I tried to go check on my harvesters)

1)The cheap stuff doubled in price in 6 years. That's not just inflation.
2)100 bucks a week to feed yourself? Either you have an eating problem or you don't know how to shop for groceries & then cook them for yourself. Someone who knows how to cook should be able to spend about $2.50 per meal, considering that some meals will be a PB&J sammich with a coke and some will be a big juicy steak with fries and a few beers. Either stop going thru the drive-thru or stop buying "individual serving" portions at premium grocery stores.

Also... yeah... I agree with the basic, overall premise of this article. But I'd also wager that OVERALL the quality of XBLA games are increasing. I still wish Dungeon Siege would be released on XBLA!

If they made a Stranger's Wrath every once a year for 7 years then they'd rightfully criticize it. This is a 7-year-old-game.

Call of Duty came out 8 years ago. It was innovative then. Now it's *THE SAME FRIGGIN STUFF* all over. If they revamped the original CoD, they'd review it as an 8 year old game, not as if it was made today.

That's like criticizing the plot of Missile Command... (well, sortakinda)

Starting in the MIDDLE of a planned sci-fi trilogy is probably one of the worst ways to play a game. Think about it... one of the main draws we all (ALL!) had was the emotional attachment to the plotlines and characters. You had none of this. It's proper to expect the action to be weakest in the middle game, and the epicness to be least as well. And, unless EA *COMPLETELY* EA-ifies ME3, we'll be right.

You're basically judging an experience solely by the bridge connecting the introduction and the conclusion. Shame on those friends who allowed you to make such a huge mistake.

I *WOULD* recommend playing ME1, but that would be like watching The Crying Game after you were told about the penis. Pretty much pointless.
