Double post, but fuck it - I'm listening to the podcast as I comment. I've gotta say, the 'ask a games journalist' is my new favorite portion of the cast. While I do enjoy the top 7 and all the funny stuff in between, hearing the four of you borderline wax philosophic (I kid) is easily the most entertaining portion - and it hurts me to hear the discussion about skipping it entirely. Keep it up!!
Picked this up for Wii a while back - loved the hell out of it. I should probably pick this up too, if only for the extras. The visuals in the Wii version were a little distracting, this seems to clear that up too...
I was hoping to see Journey Escape here - only because I've got such weird memories of that game. One of those things that, at four years old, you were kind of freaked out at but still couldn't look away from. "Don't Stop Believin'" is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I figure it's because it was permanently etched into my memory through this game. Also it's fucking awesome.
@SausageLozenge - I do *try* to stay away from establishing a value of a game by it's length - but when there's a whole OTHER disk in the case with content I already have, it's hard to shake the idea that Bungie just took a page from Nintendo's handbook. That said, I can probably sell my Halo 3 disk locally for a good 20 - 30 bucks and recoup a lot of the cost. Despite only playing a few rounds of firefight, I can definitely see the draw there - and 4 player campaign on legendary would likely be the definition of epic. See you online dude, this should be fun. I also can't help but wonder if they're planning DLC for this? Anyone heard anything?
@dreadfred - I haven't seen any *new* weapons per se - but the updated pistol and SMG are fantastic.
@bobbety - I agree, to a point. I thought the contrasting music was VERY well done - but yeah, there were a few times where I had an army of brutes on my ass while some chill saxophone riff accompanied the action. Pretty weird. Overall, I really enjoyed the music.
Can't help but wonder if this 'open world' (I use the term loosely) concept is an idea Bungie is headed towards for Reach?
This is all truth. Despite it's short campaign (and I'm hard pressed to say, considering the story, it didn't NAIL the PERFECT length), I honestly may have enjoyed it more than Halo 3. I think the only part of the game I didn't really enjoy was the typical 'Halo hallway' section before the Data Hive. Small gripe considering the rest of the campaign was pretty well done.
Worth 60 bucks? For me, no. But that's only because I already BOUGHT the map expansions for Halo 3 - the only real content I was getting were the three new maps, so that's kind of a bummer.
Need some XBL friends to go through co-op and campaign too - it doesn't seem like too many people on my list have the game yet. Shame there's no matchmaking for Firefight. Hit me up if you're looking for a fourth player to drag the team down. Gamertag: twishart
Aside from this trailer (where I didn't see any indication of it), has it been confirmed that it's in HD? And if it is, yeah, that pretty much rules out the Wii - or at least the same version of the game on all consoles.
I'd honestly be fine with Sonic the Hedgehog 4 done in the same style as Megaman 9.
She could of just put in a game that he really wanted to play, it probably would have RRoD on him and broke it further than her 93 lbs of make-up and designer jeans could have.
Also, I'd like to point out that's not a 9 iron. Couldn't quite tell, maybe a cheap hybrid from a set someone bought?
Still, I'm not sure what would have pissed me off more, my GF ruining my golf clubs or ruining my 360.
I just figured the few PC titles weren't worth mentioning since they're already dirt cheap, and were pretty much ignored by retailers across the board.
Plus, I was trying to weigh the overall value all of the discounts:
-$30 Console game > -$5 PC game
@superjw701: Thanks for pointing those out. I fixed them, and just to be on the safe side double-checked all the feathers against their respective maps. I found that the map for CR5 was also wrong and, more embarrassingly, the location of SP3 was wrong on the large map. I've updated the small map images for Venice and the San Polo district, but the large ones will take a little longer.
I'd like to thank everyone for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Thanks also to iahtebrandon and superjw701 for pointing out specific errors - that was a big help.
@iahtebrandon: You're absolutely right; thanks for pointing out the errors. Regrettably, these things sometimes happen when we're working with lots of similarly named, similar-looking images, but I've updated SP7, CS3 and CS7 with the correct map images. If you (or anyone else) see any other errors, please leave a comment or message me directly.
@newbie1511: Thanks for pointing that out. I'll check the video again today; it's possible I marked something down wrong, and if I did, then I'll post a fix.
EDIT: I found the problem - the fourth step (move the fifth and first rings right 5 times) should actually be to move them LEFT five times. Sorry about that. I'll change it in the text. Hope that's not too late to help.
