| Glad to see this is as awesome as everyone hoped it would be. I probably will never play it. I tried to play COD4 a while back and realized that I really am just not made for shooters. But it's nice to have the huge release of the fall be a quality game. | |

| @waynski1457 Racist was a reference to talkradar, where Chris talked about his love for racing games prefaced with the phrase "I'm something of a racist!" I wasn't implying that he discriminated based on race, but that he was a racing fan, and as such I was interested in his opinion. All in good fun. |

| I feel bad for Mortal Kombat. And Dennis Dyack, for that matter. Both of them don't deserve their fates, but kind of walked right into it nonetheless. It's sad to see, like a three legged dog. Or a baby wielding a maraca. |

tirrandir commented on: Things gamers don't actually care about |
|
| Good, aside from the retro game thing. I suppose if you hate fun, you might hate some retro games. I admit some of them go too far or are unnecessary, but others justify themselves by being unique experience (typically in 2D) that just don't exist anymore. Say what you will about Mega Man 9, say, but NOBODY is making games like that any more for consoles. Not in any way, shape, or form. Retro games aren't just cashing in on nostalgia, in their best incarnations, but they're reviving a type of gameplay and experience that would otherwise not exist. You can say you don't like those type of games, but that's not the same thing as the game being bad. Not to be super-serious over this list, because for every MM9 there's a stupid Galaga remake that could have just been its own game for all it does with its namesake. But when they shine, man, I feel like a kid sitting in front of his NES again. |

tirrandir commented on: The Top 7... New Year's Resolutions for the world of games |

| The Capcom vs. Sega thing is disgustingly true. I don't know how Sega keeps deliberately avoiding the advice everyone gives them. I think a large part of this is that Sega is very Japanese, while Capcom is all over the map. SF is owned by the USA Capcom, BC was made in Europe, and Mega Man 9 was probably one of those games that went over way better over here (though I'm just talking out my ass). I somehow doubt that things are run the same way on the other side of the pond. Sometimes that's good, and sometimes that's werehog. |
