| @Vitoruss It's Shock Trooper, not Ship Trooper. Though, I would totally buy a decent game based on Starship Troopers (film or book). |

thejadefalcon commented on: What are the favourite 'types' of people used on video game box-art? |
|
| I'm confused. First, games companies want to have more female gamers. Then they have few female rolemodels and settle on Sims ripoffs. They don't have female characters on the majority of the boxart. The ones there are are either sexed up to "appeal" to male gamers (it may only be 3% of the total, but it's 30% of the female only ones) or just simply ridiculous. If games wanted to have a true 50/50 audience, then surely all games should have male and female people on their covers and male and female characters to play. I'd say more, but my head hurts trying to understand the morons in the marketing sections of companies. | |

thejadefalcon commented on: QOTW: What's your biggest hobby aside from gaming? |
|
| Favourite hobby? I write fanfiction for all sorts of stuff: Halo, Star Wars, Command and Conquer, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Gears of War... umm... Minesweeper and Tetris (don't ask) just to name a few fandoms. I try to make them as realistic and plausible as possible while still sticking within the defined Canon but I've noticed a few aspects of games in some of my stories (stupid amounts of enemies and lots and lots of ammo lying around). I should probably write a parody about games at some point, but Night of the Living Bread is soaking up my humour talent right now. | |

| Actually, I think that CoD4 was claimed by PC Gamer UK in the review to be a copy of one season of 24. I don't know as I don't watch it, but Tom Francis spotted so many similarities that he was sure that it WASN'T a copy. | |

thejadefalcon commented on: The 10 most pointless videogame subtitles ever |
|
| Not as impressed with this article. For a start, ODST DOES mean something. Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. If you have read the books, then you'll know this. If you haven't read the books, you'll probably know it upon reading the back of the box. And ODST is far easier to say in conversation than Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. The "True" Soldiers thing made me laugh though. American soldiers versus the SAS. SAS wins. Anyway, in Tomb Raider: Underworld, the underworld is quite a bit more literal than usual. Underworld refers to the realm of the dead, not a tomb. To my knowledge, the closest she got previously was Atlantis. As to The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft, there is a long-drawn out explanation as to why that could potentially make sense, but I don't know the game's plot (nor do I care) so the explanation probably wouldn't fit. |

| You got the Reapers wrong. The Cycle's been going on for at least a couple of billion years. There's one planet description that mentions a 'Great Rift' or something caused by a glancing blow by a mass effect round of 'unimagininable power'. Which means that we're probably going to lose in Mass Effect 3. | |

| What I've played of the game (admittedly not much) it's pretty good (though I don’t much like how they’ve butchered the LotR timeline or characters or voice actors and now that I've read this review, I'm cautious about continuing), but I found it infuriating that I couldn’t immediately leap into Sauron’s campaign. I would have chosen the Men of the West campaign first anyway, but a big advertising thing for this game was the ability to choose your side in the war. If you have to complete the good campaign before you gain access to the evil campaign, that’s not choosing anything, is it? That’s known as ‘lineal progression,’ EA. In layman’s terms, a straight line! You can’t choose where to go on a straight line. I was also annoyed by the fact that the multiplayer option came before the single player option. That's just wrong in a thousand different ways. |

| Thank you, Chiropteran. To be honest, I was expecting the only responses to be only the lines of "shut the f*ck up". I suppose I should add that it was the comments I was annoyed at. The article was, as usual, pretty funny. |

| Uh... huh... And here we wonder why gamers are always stereotyped. Honestly, I couldn't give a damn what she wore. My favourite outfit in Legend was also the most modest (the biker outfit). I don't buy games based on who's a voice actor or who's stripped half naked (the reason I was very cautious about buying RA3). I buy games for being GAMES. Maybe I'm just not picky, but that's all I need. As long as the game is good, I couldn't care less about the voice actors. Lara should just be Lara: the fiesty countess of Abbington. She may not be the most ladyish for countesses, but that's just Lara. Stick to raiding tombs and saving the world from ancient evils. That's the Lara I want (it's sort of in the name). Otherwise, we may as well have Misty Mundae: Erotic Raider (apparently an actual film). |
