pardon the interuption but all of you halo fanboys out there who think halo introduced any new concepts to videogames on for fps or storywise should know your 100% incorrect. It was not the first to introduce gernades it wasnt the first to introduce coop for 4 players. Ever heard of unreal tournament? Ever hear of red faction? Well the 2nd red faction introduced 4 player coop. I may even be incorect in that one(as far as consoles). What about goldeneye for the n64. I mean come on halo doesnt even have that great of story. halo 3 is about a whole 5 hours long and is complete trash. Dont get me wrong halo is a fun game and i played it to completion a few times but its not even a top 10 shooter. Even the original gauntlet had coop play so learn something about what you like before you talk or go play some mario party or dynasty warriors and sit down.

Crumb, fallout 1 and 2 were great but to say fallout 3 wasnt as good would be silly. It was a great game with unique quests and it was a gameplay experience I will look back on in many years. There arent to many games that can do that to people. i havent been gaming as long as you only about 20 years of my life but in those 20 years i can seriously think of about 12 games that I will constanly remember and tell others about and share memories with others. Fallout 3 is one of those games.

I never particularly was in love with star wars. I mean its entertaining and im learning some of the back stories but I stopped paying for wow because after giving them 3 years worth of my money I just didnt feel right about it anymore. I mean I was one of the best tanks on my server and it felt cheapened that other casual folks walking around in all epics as well. Anyways this game looks great and gives me a reason to try and learn as much about starwars as i can. I wonder what the specs will be but im guessinging my quad core i7 will eat this games breakfast and steal its lunch money. You think they will charge 15 a month like wow or maybe 10 a month?

I just want to say that I am currently in a humanities class for college(not for my major but an elective) I single handedly fought off a group of 15 other adults for a hour and provided so many examples,websites,articles,fan art ect that they now agree that video games is indeed interactive art. Intelligent cube, F-1 racing,mdk, its about time for a warcraft 4 a Fallout mmo Gta to die or at least go away for many years. Twisted metal, a 4extreme would be fun. dynasty warriors to die or koi in general a new onimusha halo also needs to die for lack of story and all the fanboys who love average games that are 5 hours long. Gears of war is garbage. Oh monkey island needs to come back in a big way so theres many more. Adventure games arent dead just dormant. Wow I think of this topic all the time. For starters Jet moto. It was simply awesome race game. Rock and roll raceing made by the same guys who made games such as jill of the jungle,warcraft starcraft and world of warcraft. You guessed it blizzard. Um Arcanum a rpg by troika and sierra bar non top 5 rpg's i ever played. Baldurs gate 3 for pc(the console games are nothing in comparison) The old clocktower games were awesome not the newest one. A new starfox would be nice. 13 was a great shooter would be a nice thing to see a sequel. Red dead revolver and gun. Outlaws was a awesome wildwest shooter from lucas arts i believe. Quest for glory from sierra was totally gold. Kings quest would be best left as a memory unless they really brought it back in great fashion. The old leisure suit larrys not this new gta ripoff/not funny game. Phantasmagoria hmm um gabriel knight, laura bow, halloween harry, commander keen, A wolfenstein game thats not garbage. rise of the triad. streets of rage,battletoads and for the love of god fatal frame on computer. make use of duel nvidias yeah...yeah do i got more? yeah but its all you get from memory lane.

A better example would be a game company that releases a new game and the next week already has the platinum one out. Its not that I didnt think they would ever make a left 4 dead 2 its just to damn soon in my opinion. Every single person who bought the original has a right to be pissed off and legitamately so. They fear that they wont get any added content besides the one survival mode lighthouse mission. I for one wont purchase left 4 dead 2 no matter how good it supposedly is. It seems to rushed to me . Nevermind everyones gripes about it being in daylight thats ok I guess but the fact that valve seems a bit to money hungry as if they need it that bad im sure they are still drowning in money from orange box. If they really want more money then make a halflife 2 episode 3 and then announce left 4 dead 2. Thats what I would of did. This would kind of be like blizzard announcing a world of warcraft 2 right before announcing the next expansion to the original it would not only make for bad buisiness but it would also piss off loyal customers. Call me a jaded gamer but valve will not get any more of my money until the next halflife comes out. I care about gorden and his story not some damn zombie shooting game with absolutely no story. If the game has no story then I think it shouldnt retail at a full games price anyways. I mean if ya got to make the game player creat possible stories in their head then maybe reward them for your retarded lazy work. You know what hardcore gamers want? I can tell you it isnt these pissy little games im guessing its old franchises since the majority of hardcore gamers are no longer little kids like we were so its time for games to grow up with us. Im done ranting I just get in these moods sometimes where I dont understand where these huge companies place their logic. Hey any of you remember the old leisure suit larry games from sierra and how incredibly fun and funny they were? Well I just played 2 hours of the newest one and its garbage. I can't believe I had the patience to sit there that long playing it I almost wanted to cry just hopeing it would get better. Yeah this was about E3 but then I changed it oh well sorry. I personally dont know anyone over 25 thats saying oh gee cant wait for kingdom hearts or omg pokemon shit brown is coming. I hear most people saying gimme kid iccarus or how about a megaman or maybe a mario that isnt gay. The last game that came out that was worth me buying was....Fallout 3 then before that... Bioshock and crysis. Yeah I have played games since then and sins of a solar empire was trash left for dead was more fun to play drunk then anything. I got good at it then deleted the game after a month. The next game I may purchase and am truly dieing to play is metal gear 4 I played it for 2 hours at a friends and it was so insanely awesome that I am contemplateing buying a ps3. (youd think id be done now but im all cranked out on energy drinks). Anyways tommorow im gonna reinstall oblivion for the 4th time and give it anothe chance everyone says the story is awesome and I trust bethesda. I didnt like the camera angel so I disregarded the game even though I spent over 100 buying it and the expansions along with morrowind goty edition on ebay. In closeing Zelda is not hardcore(anymore) pokemon was never hardcore and kingdom hearts is ok because of the story but it got disney characters in it and its not hardcore either.My opinion doesnt matter im sure to most of you if your under 20 years of age or so but my favorite thing from E3 was project natal just because I can come up with every way i would implement it if i was microsoft and not some gimmick like nintendos vitality sensor. Anyways im gonna go play some classic monkey island I will be back later to see if I got any replies. If you think im wrong then tell me and make a good case for it to. Well you all are looking at it as how they can make games that are totally controlled by this technology. Where nintendo forces the crap down your throat why cant microsoft with natal instad realize the potential in certain situations. Picture this:


Your useing your controller to walk and even to fight but you go to a npc and actually talk to them. Hi how are you. Then they act favorably towards you according to how you treat them or maybe a npc thats brash and violent you get to act in kind and threaten him a little and watch him react. Think of the dialouge choices or think of the new puzzles for myst style games that ask you to draw a map of ruins or something like that then hold it to the lens and it would be great and get you involved in more ways then you ever imagined. How about a world game editor where you draw what you want it to look like on paper label the items the game recognizes it and fleshes it out then you can make changes accordingly in game such as colors and textures. I could literally keep going for hours and have already thought of many ideas for it and told a few friends. The potential is only the limit of ones creativity. It can either be a finniky gimmick thats over in a year or 2 or it can be incorporated in ways that will make the games we know and love better. I myself can imagine telling moriority to go to hell and tell me where my father is. I didnt pay him 100 caps he can go to hell. If you didnt get that last line so be it. Anyways I will reserve my judgment for awhile . Im glad im going to college to design video games though. Just see what happens i suppose. Now back to warcraft 3

In terms of press conferences id say Microsoft is largely ahead. Nintendo has done better then past E3 events but that isnt saying much when you got miyamoto on stage playing a fake instrument like a jackass. The new metroid looked pretty cool but all that gimmicky crap needs thrown away. The thing isnt they dont care truly about good games everyones money is the same afterall. Anyways I am new to these forums here but I like it so far so I will come back I enjoy reading what you all think. I think they done enough to milk the shit out of mario and that resident evil game looked like time crisis or something seemed like shovelware. Thats keep shoveling the shit out people will eat it right up. The metroid looked cool but no sign of kid iccarus ,castlevania,megaman,pilotwings nothing. Thats the only way to let them know either make stuff we want to play or your console is not gonna sell and you will lose all your precious money. What do people do when gas prices rise to high? People dont buy gas for a day or 2. It hurts them so bad that they lower prices.Then slowly they raise prices again and you dont buy again. Sorry to piss in your cornflakes nintendo fans but if your truly passionate about games you wont put up with it because the longer you put up with this kindergarden type games the more they will pump out. Smashiest glass!
It is fun to smash glass in games but I wonder why so many games require you to actually smash glass to move on . That and wooden crates. But the glass part is more relevant theres even cutscenes of peopl breaking through glass. Anyways good article. Oh ya and just like everyone else here um marry me lizzie. I dont own a wii and I never plan on it. Ive seen the games on the shelves read the backs of them and I shake my head in a left and right fashion. This crap might be selling right now but it wont last forever then they wont have a cash cow to milk. By that time they will have forgottong what a good game truly is and forgotton long ago how to make a great game. I fear they may go the way of sega console wise. Hell some of the games on the regular sega are better then this crap. Seriously throwing darts wrangling barrels and 1000 iterations of tennis and bowling. I think I will pass and this crap sure makes me glad I have a badass computer that I will always have good to awesome games for. Everyone thinks pc gaming is dead. I laugh at that and all of the consoles that have mediocre to piss poor games. Whats the options for consoles though to buy a different piss poor game or a tamed version of a computer game. Im not saying console games are worthless but I am saying that there are very few reasons to own a console anymore. I mean the second it comes out it is already trumped by a computer that came out 4 years prior. The only series that are worth a damn is metal gear,resident evil(pre 5). Nintendo is trying to milk everything out of their new damn controller that they forgot how to have fun in favor of being"innovated" Looking at the consoles objectivly id say the best one is playstation 3 its to bad its so damn expensive by trying to force blue ray down your throats. What the hell is wrong with dvd's its still relativly new in terms of recording. These are all the reasons I will always be a computer gamer first and a console gamer for games that wouldnt make sense on a computer.

Well I shake my head in a left and right fashion as I read your verdict. True scum vm was a awesome landmark achivement and you actually forgot to mention loom for lucas arts. But this argument is a toss up I suppose but you did forget a lot of sierra point and clicks such as torins passage(created by al lowe the maker of leisure suit larry) you forgot laura bowe murder mysteries . True monkey island is awesome and is stil lawesome but you can play the sierra games still but you said you couldnt. Ever hear of dosbox? Its how all old games are played.

On a side note someone mentioned some game from westwood must not of read that this piece was on sierra vs lucas arts. Those 2 companies are not westwood/bullfrog/maxis/ea (I mentioned all of those because they were subsidiaries of each other who got bought out by ea. Anyways I still maintain sierra as the winner and fan favorite.

Ogrim noone really raided arc during bc. Also I find it pretty impossible that a level 60 was lost in netherstorm. That would take a seriously dumb person. I mean the zone you have to be in (hellfire peninsula) is clarly dry,arid and then you have to ride through zangar marsh yeah I call bs on the level 60 being in netherstorm unless a warlock summoned him.

Im tired of everyone casual player whineing. You can only dedicate so many hours to wow. Ok fine I understand that but im sure if you had time to get to level 80 in the first place then im sure you can spare a few hours to do a raid or a heroic or 2 a week. If you dont have time to even do that then i9m sure mmo's arent part of the plan for your gaming time. Finding a group for the lower instances is never a problem. I reccommend downloading the mod called always lfg. It is what its called your always in looking for group. So no excuses.

You forgot games that were classics in the 80's like oregon trail and where in the world is carmen san diego. The originals mind you. No I love writing about what im passionate about. I even wrote a lot in the sierra vs lucas arts thread and the other bioshock 2 exclusive that spawned from this one.

To the poster who asked if anyone knew of heros of might and magic complete. I have this to say.

When I was 21 years old and in the navy I didnt have to much money but I had a incredible urge to play heros. I bought a computer at the pawn shop with my roomate we split the cost of the pentium 2 and we bought heros from ebay. Altogether it was a 2 month project just for us to play heros because the ps2 version was garbage.
