11 months 25 days ago on PC (PC): You'll never be this good at games
To clarify, the entire match between Justin Wong and Daigo Umehara (Daigo is one of the better 3rd Strike players in Japan... and an average 3rd player in Japan can compete with most of the better American players) has better buildup than the infamous Evo clip. Justin Wong is infamous for "turtling" with chun li, who has ridiculous range and priority in 3rd Strike. She can stay away and poke really well and build her super meter. Her Super Art 3 (which is parried in this match) does stupid amounts of damage and it doesn't take long to get the meter for it. Chun Li, Ken, and Yun are the 3 best characters in the game.

So, Justin is playing his usual style of running away and poking (you hear someone say "LET TIME RUN OUT JUSTIIIN") and he decides to showboat with the ridiculously damaging super.

Daigo then proceeds to parry (3rd Strike runs at 60 frames of animation per second, and many of the chances to parry are [frames are different for each move] under 6 frames (which means 1/10 of a second or less) the entire super and counters it with Ken's ridiculously powerful super.

to be fair, justin could have easily just continued to camp and won (he wins the next match but loses the best of xx games set) and being able to parry supers is sort of expected of good 3rd Strike players. However, the circumstances in which it happened make it a truly memorable and incredible comeback.

also, number 8 is Pop n' Music.

I'm glad that this article doesn't poke fun at the gamers who take the time to accumulate skill through practice and play.
