read it on some other site before, but now i got to write something of my mind: These comments on the plans of major gaming corporations seem ridiculous on so many levels... Think just about one tiny little aspect: Why would either sony or microsoft NOT produce consoles in the future, when both company make huge, almost most of their gross profit on the sales in this branch?
This "cloud-based gaming provider"-spokesperson needed some attention, which he obviously gained, nice move - we're all stupidly fallen for it.
Companies (in capitalist countries) work to maximize their profit, why would - of all things - sony resign their distribution, especially after just having launched another handheld device?
I don't think that either one of the mentioned companies will drop out of the gaming/console sector, i KNOW they won't in the near future - as long as there is a market (see: weekly sales at VGChartz, Releases 2012, Multi-Platform-Franchises overall).
aside from the fact, that the software will be responsible for the success of the hardware, i think that the timing to launch a new nintendo console is quite alright. "The next Xbox and PlayStation are still a good few years away" - that's the point for the 2012 launch window IMO, as it was 2006 with the Wii. Too bad that the "hardcore"-gaming-crowd will stick to their xboxes and playstations, that the look and functionality of the controlling device will never be more than gimmicky and that the causual-gaming-55+ crowd won't adapt to a new nintendo console (touchpad AND Controller?! too much to handle, literally)
one can only hope for a deep melee-combo system and good shooting-mechanics..the lack of a cover system suggests that you mostly rush towards the enemy and i guess no game can build something worthwhile out of that limitation.
Well, after playing the demo i tought it was quite ok, but a bit shallow - the humor seemed a bit too "in your face".
After reading the review here i'm a bit confused, because the text itself has nothing negativ in it. I was quite surprised that it scored a (solid?) 7 and the "you'll hate" comments were somehow redundant or at least not helping my decision towards buying the game or not.
Not sure if i wanna spend money on it, normally i'm considering this site in such cases...to bad.
don't like catwomans style (to in-your-face-sassy), face-animations and the fact that it could be a sandbox-game...arkham was fine without endless possibilities. But - thinking about the great voice-work, amazing gameplay (free-flow is still the best i have ever seen in a 3rd person game, why so under-used by other developers?) and interesting antagonists - i'm still anticipating it like almost no other game right now..
sorta happened to me...ME 2 couldnt find the savegames at startup - but i just shut down the system, reloaded the game and voila: there they were again, all my savegames. no sweat.
...for actually buying a Virtual Boy while on vacation in florida...(was young back then and hyped by 3D!!Yeah!)....and enjoying Teleroboxer(spelled right?)
jup, it's really stunning, the overall look and weapon sounds are awesome..hope they make the quick turns and normal running movements a little bit more smooth/lifelike and not so stiff until the release
