| Don't have FN4 yet, but I played the demo and I was picking my jaw up off the floor every couple o' minutes. The fighting is so fluid, and the fact of no canned animations & no clipping, EVER, is just plain marvelous. I'm grinning just thinking about it! | @chillarome: The AC2 SE ar GameStop includes a statue of Ezio, in game dlc amounting to an extra hidden area to flit about in (that will be available later for purchase), a behind the scenes DVD, and one of those metal cases, I believe. I've had mine on pre-order for MONTHS, so it's been a while since I read the ad. @TURbo: Considering much of AC is set in the birthplace of the world's three main modern religions, calling it a "Biblical setting" regardless of time is more than apt. Perhaps you should get your definitions right, before you decide to insult someone else's fact checking. |

cart00n commented on: 10 game ads that are horribly up their own ass |
| I have to say, I am terribly disappointed with this article. Just about every ad here (aside from Nights) is an example of mature, thoughtful, and artistic vision. And guess what? It WORKED! Each game represented here (again, aside from Nights) is a frickin' blockbuster, largely spurred on by the hype generated from these ads that weren't just in your face trying to bludgeon you into buying their games. And you spend a WHOLE ARTICLE bashing them. Worse, you then give examples of "how it should've happened" that are nothing but the same, routine bullshit. Seriously? Certainly, if these games had been commercial failures, this article would've made some sense. Instead, you just look like you haven't a wit of sense about you, writing the worst article I've ever had the displeasure of reading on this site. By the bye, that Gears 1 add is STILL on my Xbox HDD. I haven't had the heart to delete it, because I just love watching it. If you don't like the add, fine. If that was just what this article was about, I would simply just be disagreeing with you and moving on. However, the style you used here made it seem like you weren't just expressing YOUR opinions, you were expressing EVERYONES' opinion. That, sir, is the very DEFINITION of having one's head up one's own ass. I certainly hope this article is an anomaly, and not a sign of things to come. This site has been my first destination everyday ever since I first discovered it, and I'd not like that to change any time soon. |

| I remember reading about this in OXM some ages ago, talking about how the water physics ain't just pretty, they're the whole point of the game. That and the sanity of the hydrophobic main character. Made me think of Eternal Darkness underwater back then. Now it sounds more like Uncharted on a sinking boat, sprinkled with a little Bioshock. Either way, as someone who has spent most of his life close to water, I can tell you it can be pretty scary under the right conditions. If they get the water physics right, in all those cramped spaces, with gun-totin' terrorists? Yeah, that sounds pretty tense to me... reCaptcha: windex be |

cart00n commented on: The return of the Dreamcast: Why it could work |
| The Dreamcast was the first system I was able to get onto during its heyday. It was my first portal onto the internet. I remember seeing Soul Calibur for the first time and being fully aware that my jaw was dropping yet I couldn't stop it if I tried - it was SOOOO much better looking than ANYTHING else before it... It was simply mind-blowing. Certainly, graphics have come a LONG way since then, but nothing has yet come close to that night&day effect the DC managed to pull off that year. Finally, in-game graphics that fulfilled the promise of all those gorgeous FMVs Sony's PlayStation was so famous for. I never picked up my PS again until the day I gave it away... | |

| A tremendous game by far. I wouldn't mind the sequel being set in a much bigger environment - I think Assassin's Creed proved sneaky-combat works in a big city environment - just redone for Gotham. Imagine Tim Burton's vision of Gotham City, with all the gothic architecture... Yeah, that was a pretty creepy place when you think about it. Now imagine getting to drive that wonderful machine glimpsed in the beginning of AA from location to location, not to mention the wonderful machine Batman flies off in at the end... Drool... | |

| I actually had to force myself to delete the demo off my Xbox because I'd gotten so addicted to it, I couldn't stop replaying it, but every time I got to the end, I'd get depressed. I'll tell you, tho', even tho' that demo is short, there's a LOT of depth to it. A couple little Riddler trophies, some really fun ways to take out your foes, even with just a bat-a-rang and a grappling hook. I used to not like stealth games too much (BG&E and Riddick are exceptions), but if this is the new direction other games start to take, I may start to change my mind - that new Splinter Cell has been catching my eye as of late as well.. | |

cart00n commented on: Borderlands (Xbox 360): Four things you need to know about Borderlands |
| Personally, I hope this game gets delayed till next year - cause I can't afford it NEXT year. Also, when I first saw the teaser for this game 2 years ago, I thought, eh, COULD be cool. The story sounded cool, but the art direction didn't really seem all that inspired. This latest trailer, however, it's one of my favorite trailers ever. The art direction is unique, the contrast between the "hand-drawn", French-"Heavy Metal"-styled characters and vehicles against the almost realistic yet still colorful, blasted-earth backgrounds is truly beautiful to behold. If Brutal Legend wasn't already my game purchase for October, Borderlands would definitely be getting my money on the day of its release. The only way I'll be buying this one is if I put it off till next year, unless I can Goozex it, first. Oh, and by the way, all this negative talk about the artwork reminds me of all the whining people did over the direction The Wind Waker took, and look how wonderfully awesome THAT game was... |

| @ walrusthewill: "it will get great reviews but no one will buy it" What are you smoking? If a Batman game got great reviews, what makes you think it wouldn't sell? Batman is part of our culture, even people who've NEVER read a comic book know who Batman is. Most of his games have been hits, and they mostly SUCKED, so why would a Batman game that got great reviews NOT be a hit? Your logic makes no sense to me. |
