LucasArts versus Sierra: Part One
has anyone who's played Gabriel Knight: beast within (2nd one) notice that the guy who played Gabriel (Dean Erickson I think) worked at cafe Nervosa on Frasier? it was one of the first season episodes. nearly shit when I saw him there. "thats me, gabriel knight."

Five rules for introducing your girlfriend to gaming
um, my girlfriend loves gta4. besides, pretty sure the splicers in bioshock and the grunts in FEAR can still be considered men in camo.

? there's nothing wrong with the controls anyway. they're fine.

um actually the game is pretty good. I don't think the reviewer game it the time of day. for one; the cut scenes are 'skippable' with a quick pause, there's an option to skip. two; the game does 'autosave' its just turned off by default in the game options menu. three; actions in battle are determined by action points allocated to the enemies you are targeting. if a member has a powerful mystic attack such as 'caustic burn' and you attack with a AP lower then necessary you'll execute a lower end spell. four; I had no problem having the game recognize my wireless xbox cntrllr for the pc off the get go. five; the locations arn't all dreary. there are catacombs and cave just like any rpg, but there are also sprawling vista like dillmore and the great sand sea. most of the cities are amazing and truly show off the unreal engine, like eylusions towering academy and belurrus' prosperous desert trading hub . The game has a bit of a learning curve, but once understood you'll appreciate its epic experience and rewarding combat. I'm convinced the reviewer didn't give the game the time of day and feel rather frustrated that they made such a poor attempt at getting familiar with what some people will appreciate as a great rpg. if only a filler until the new final fantasy is released. I mean common "unskippable" cut scences? really? read the manual.

and ya, the social club and live thing was a pain in the ass. what? I can't save my progress unless I use windows live? fine $#%ing install it. I wanna know why they even bother installing a GTA4 icon AND a SocialClub icon? clicking on the first one just launches the second one anyway? haven't been this frustrated with a game in a long time.

you're not the only one having problems bamboo-stick. I'm getting shitty FPS on Low setting, almost unplayable and I can play farcry2 with everything set to very high. from looking at the forums it seems that everyone's having the same problem even on extreme rigs. the game just wasnt ported and coded very well. seems like rockstar rushed this one out for xmas shoppers.

they shoulda adopted the controls from dead space. at least the sidestepping. jesus, its about time every game had sidestepping. who wants to have to turn first.

"throwing the covers off a game that is visually beyond even Dead Rising and Lost Planet" ??Um did I miss something? neither DR or LP were anything special as far as visuals are concerned. how 'bout crysis or far cry2 or something. game looks sweet though.

was playing this last night. I'm not sure how they did it but this game looks outta this world up close. the textures and lighting are phenomenal and the polygon count is through the roof. And Lara's vagina bulge looks amazing in a wetsuit while shes straddling a slippery pole.
