Was planning on getting this along with RDR, Alan Wake, and Galaxy 2. However, after reading this review along with a few others, i'll save my money and just devote my time to those other games. I'll probably pick this up down the road for $30 or less
I know this wasn't in the 80's but still, I can't believe that you guys haven't made any Natal comparisons to that old Nickelodeon show Nick Arcade, where in the last event they'd be running in place like idiots and slapping coins in the air. Cmon now Gamesradar
It def looks like a Shadow Complex rip-off. While I doubt it will be as good as that game was (fav XBLA title by far), i'll still probably pick this up, I never get tired of Metroidvania games
@Onyx: If 14 is anything like 11, you literally CANNOT solo after lvl 10. The monsters are too tough and you need a party of 6 to level, thats one thing that sucks about the game compared to others like WoW. In FF11 you can't do shit by yourself, you need a group for just about everything.
PS: Obviously i dont know for sure, but since they didn't even bother to change the races, im assuming they won't change the pros/cons either. Oh and the Roegdyns were called Galkans in 11
As a former FFXI player (ie. tool) i have to throw in the fact that when picking a race it's important to keep in mind what you want your main class to be, as each race excels in one area and sucks in another. For those interested, here's the breakdown:
Elezan (Elvaan in 11)- high strength, good dexterity/agility, low magic
Lalafell (Tarutaru)-high magic, low strength, decent in other stats
Hyur (Humes)- average in everything
Roegdyn- High strength, HP and defense, terrible at magic, decent in everything else
Miquote (Mithra)- above average magic and agility, a bit below average in others
I was gonna flip a shit if Twisted Pixel was not mentioned here, but alas, you saved my shit from being flipped. TP is fantastic, and Splosion Man was one of the best and most addictive arcade games I played all summer. And the original songs they made for the game were hilarious! For the rest of my life, whenever I eat a donut that song will pop into my head
Damn I can't wait for this game! The first one is my favorite WRPG this gen, and the second looks to overtake that title! Between this, Borderlands, Fallout GOTY, and Dragon Age:Origins, my next few months are gonna be filled with WRPG awesomeness!!!
Agreed, such a good game and a must have for racing enthusiasts. Tis a shame it will go mostly overlooked. 2nd favorite summer of arcade title after 'Splosion Man, altho it will probably get pushed to 3rd when Shadow Complex comes out!
