Actually I think the problem is that some of us out there are so confused that there are so many man-children out there that are so amused by being able to throw feces and fake, rubbery looking titties. People keep talking about video game critics being on high horses - maybe the problem is that you guys are enjoying playing in the sewer. We're not putting ourselves above you, you're lowering yourselves to playing with human waste so you're the ones choosing to be lower. |

Name calling and giving games bad reviews for no reason has worked out just fine for Destructoid so far so I see no reason other sites shouldn't get in on the fun. I do also love how people like to give game reviewers huge amounts of shit for their opinions then they like to devalue the reviewers work by stating that it's just an opinion. Well obviously it's a helluva opinion if it's got you so butthurt over it. And no, he didn't bring up his book review that little blurb is appended to all reviews written on Joystiq as part of the writers credits. But clearly that's too much effort for the game developers to notice. Clearly they're too busy having little spats with people who don't like their crappy games to actually develop anything worth a damn. |

I'm gonna make a point here and it's something that these guys are likely not going to understand. When you make a game like this where you're trying to draw in the crowd from the previous two Modern Warfare games. You know who this brings in? The elitists and the douches. The elitists aren't even close to being "the voice" of the gamer crowd and if thin skinned programmers let this get to them then they need to find another occupation. I know how aggravating it can be when someone tears down your work but these aren't people, these are just whiny internet trolls trying to use the anonymity of the net to make themselves feel good. If that gets to you then I'm sorry but game over man. Remember those guys you went to school with who always thought they were king shit? Those guys who had something to say about everything everyone else did so it would make them feel better? Well they're playing your game, so congrats. Those jerks are going to give you, and the other gamers, grief over just about every little thing. |

Half-Life 2 (PC): 'Beyond Black Mesa' Half-Life fan film released |
|

All about atmosphere without cheap gimmicks or cliches? The games are riddled with cliches. The only thing that keeps them from being just another FPS is the fact that they have good level design and the gravity gun. Oh and a few really awesome levels. The fan film isn't all that great and I'd have taken more gunfights over stupid kung fu fights but lets not pretend that Half Life is some redefinition of a genre or anything. |

The wording they use for the level up system confuses me a bit. Is it like the older games, just with the class system removed or is it something newer they're doing? It kind of sorta sounds like a modified version of the previous system but I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong. |

It's a lot harder to support those fresh games when Activision does little to let anyone know that they even exist. I honestly don't have enough faith in Kotick at this point to believe that he's really pushing to see more original IP's coming out of the company. With how they dragged and pulled and yanked the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero franchises into the floor but still yank them out constantly to embarrass themselves I'm rather positive they've learned nothing over the past year, year and a half. |

Worst dick moves ever pulled on developers by gamers |
|
|
I can definitely agree we need more articles like this. Except, ya know, to actually get their facts straight when they're trying to sound clever. As it is this particular article is terrible. I can get the sarcasm and all but if you're going to tell me I'm a dick, even in jest, get the facts right. #2 You do realize that part of the reason people complained about L4D2 was because Valve ran their mouth Peter Molyneux style. They promise a bunch of free stuff and then only gave survival mode. Then we got Crash Course which was a half a campaign. Great. I also like how the concern that this would split the player base so soon after the game was released isn't mentioned. #4 So we throw "justified" whine fests when movie producers have no idea about a game franchise they're working on but it's unjustified when those people who know nothing about a game franchise are working on the franchise? Makes sense. Fallout 3 was awesome in spite of some parts of the dev team I think. #5 Many of us complainers don't WANT to play 90 levels for $50 bucks. All we want is to get to play as Zerg or Protoss in non-multiplayer modes. But we have to pay $50 to start the story up and then $50 and another $50 to get to the installments we actually care about. #7 The Crysis developers have nobody to blame but themselves. Here's a great strategy - let's make a game that's major selling point is the graphics, then require that you have Windows Vista (garbage) and a ridiculously powerful (and expensive) PC to enjoy said graphics. Then lets be surprised when most of the gamers out there can't be bothered to pick it up and the pirates inflate the numbers. Great idea! Totally not the developers fault. @LordUberDowzen - That doesn't make sense. I have an apartment, I buy a TV to watch television. Oh look a video game console let me hook it up. I don't just have a monitor lying around that I can then hook up to a PC. You add on monitors to prices of computers because it serves no purpose otherwise. |

Fallout: New Vegas (PC): Fallout: New Vegas character build guide |

Oh and that unarmed build is slightly off. It is more designed for battling humans in something of an unarmed, low armor monk type build not for fighting the animals in the Wasteland so in that regard it somewhat fails. I managed to clear out the NCR Correctional Facility by myself, right from the start of the game, with that build. The perception helps with seeing enemies coming before they can hear you so you can re-enter sneak mode and then you go in and take them down. Using just that and some looted Buffout I managed to wipe out that place. It's not meant for a toe-to-toe bruiser and if that's how you're going to fight, then yes it wouldn't work. At all. |

Fallout: New Vegas (PC): Fallout: New Vegas character build guide |

The reason all of these kits place average stats is because stats don't matter. At all. Or let me correct that, positive stats don't matter. When you go into negatives you start to dramatically hamper your character while going into the positives gives you almost no benefit beyond a one or two point increase to the associated stats. As a matter of fact the single best build in the game is probably 9 INT, 9 Luck and then put the rest wherever you like. Then simply tag whatever skills you're going to use for that build. This isn't like Fallout 1 & 2 where stats could have a huge impact on the variety of skills so going to extremes is, to put it bluntly, incredibly worthless. This is doubly true for new players who this guide is mostly aimed at. Also gimping Luck is, to put it mildly, beyond silly. Sneak attacking won't help you when an all out fight occurs where you can't sneak unless you're going to find and use Stealth Boys every time a face to face fight breaks out. The only build that should deemphasize luck is one that's going to use heavy handed as you can then use weapons that don't critical in the first place (a build I just recently discovered) Otherwise it's just really silly. |

Dead Rising 2 Combo Card Weapon Guide |
|
|
Many of the safe rooms in Dead Rising 2 contain the tools required to make combo weapons. It felt kind of redundant to point most of these out as the combo weapons really aren't all that effective. They're fun but you're often better with a shotgun, LMG and a few Spiked Bats. @kyle94: Without the combo card the weapon takes roughly two to three shots to kill an individual zombie. With the combo card it's basically just a glorified shotgun. So overall it seemed kind of like a worthless weapon to me. @Michael: I'd have loved to have been part of the conversation that brought on that whoopsie, heh! I was wondering what the heck that was or if it was a prank from a colleague (a friend made it so that Word replaced every instance of the word "this" with "that". Yeah, wow. No idea what the hell happened there. I know my computer was having a seizure thanks to all the video capture while I was typing. What's even more interesting is that typo isn't in my original file. Weird. @leyviur - I found it much easier to grab two bow and arrows from the Chieftains Hut, the two dynamite sticks in RFP and use the two Blambows to slaughter zombies left and right. I see your point though but it's still fairly limited in use. |

Is this analogous to the stupid comments Sony used to fire at us "Like we should work extra hard to be able to afford a PS3" and crap? Are you really going there? Why don't you tell us about the historical battles and their giant turtles next. Seriously I like your articles but when you're stretching that much to justify an overpriced handheld that you have to say the price makes it only for the elite... you're obviously an Apple fanboy or someone who loves their PSPgo and will find any reason to justify it.
