As a fighting game nut, I'm anticipating doa5 as a 'party' game, without gratuitous T&A it better have a damn good fight system. Even if so, I would still be dissapointed if Christie doesn't have questionable attire
even as a FF7 fanboy, Crisis Core is mediocre at best. combat is shallow, I don't see why Zack would have profound impact on Cloud the way story was carried in CC. and that guy in red suit is forgettable, and I don't even remember what the deal is with Sephiroth in that timeline.
after dying over and over and over and over again in the underwater level in Donald Duck In Maui Mallard for genesis. my childhood self just said 'that's it'. it's never being touched again until months later when a magazine printed the complete passwords (it was an internet-less era in my country pretty much) I even remember the password 'yohoho' because that's what I did everyday, input that password and fail. did it make it to your worst water level list?
I read somewhere else that, art direction-wise, the devs have transitioned as-is to 360, save for some character detail that makes Geralt looks younger than he is in PC, but if you've never played it, who would notice? the only thing you'll need to worry is the combat system definitely doesn't hold your hand. I'm sure it's no dark soul, but still harder than average modern game. So why don't you guys reward a developer that, for once, gives you free DLC, no DRM, and concentrates on one platform at a time? ;)
DmC at #23? really? you don't have to be objective in a 'most anticipated' list, it's not a 'most likely to be great' list. with DMC fans bashing it on daily basis, I hardly see it being 'anticipated'. and if a fanbase as niche as DMC fans already (mostly) abandoned ship, who else is gonna wait for this game?
nope. OS only eats memory and background programs can be turned off, even turned on, multicore processors eat them for breakfast. the real culprit is DirectX and PC's hardware flexibility. so basically DirectX enables developer to not worry about multiple types of graphic cards, among other things. the caveat is it has a huge overhead and developers are not able to dig deep to a graphic card's 'machine code' as all functions are abstracted at directx level. bypassing this would devs to code and optimize for a specific hardware(s) which isn't sound business-wise considering a PC gamer can use anything in nVidia or AMD's catalog. Consoles have mostly the same hardware inside them throughout their life cycle, so over the years we always see optimizations because it rewards both developers and consumers. ati 4000 is leaps and bounds from geforce 7600 and ati x600 (if I'm not mistaken), from which PS3 and 360 graphic are based, respectively
generally fighting games' story is abysmal when compared to other genre. it usually ranges from nonsense to adequate. maybe we shouldn't call it story, let's call it concept or something. SC is (or used to be) cream of the crop (crap? :D) alongside KOF, IMO.
well, Half Life 2 shoehorned Steam when it was released, look at it now. I'm not saying origin will be the next steam, but as long origin accepts non-EA titles for distribution it's a logical move and EA is merely using its products for early leverage. having to expose your email to another service is always a chore and a risk though. good thing I'm not a BF or ME fan so I don't have to think this over.
speaking about anarchy reigns, it just feels like... there's ZERO hype right now. candidate for critical darling/commercial flop? or maybe worse; okay but very niche.
on the fence but overall pretty interested. will wait for the technical aspects to mature, like long server queues, or, god forbid, glitchy billing (I'm being paranoid). but Diablo 3 would make me forget about all MMOs anyway, so if there is no trial in the future I think I'll never play it :P
when GR talk about the severity of skyrim bugs, they always contradict themselves. I mean, you guys gave it a 10, either stop bitchin or revise the score. still love GR, though.
mine is pretty obvious, it's duke nukem. I wasn't aiming for lofty heights here, all I wanted was serious sam with boobs, what I got was a last-gen game designed with two weapon pickups and regenerating health. with last-gen boobs. the effing broken MvC3 and UMvC3 are also my anti games of 2011, though I didn't expect it to be good, just bought it because my friend bought it, so it's not entirely capcom's fault.
was wondering how this would make the splash in western news. I followed the game director's twitter, the english version of ad replaces the text with "go big or go home". and Ivy's definitely not going home.
