Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale (PS3): Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale hands-on preview
Comparisons to Dark Allianz is the sweet sound I have been waiting for with this gen, could it really be true?

The Top 7... Worst things you can do to a gamer
Great article GR, just the sort of lift required on a mundane Monday at work. I'm the beat em at their own game person. I don't care who they are - I must win at all costs! 7 years old and playing Mario Kart with me? Prepare to lose sucker!!

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (PS3): PS3 piracy - it begins. First hacked game shown running on unmodded PS3
If there is a strong argument for not posting these stories - which we all know there is - what are the reasons for posting the article Justin? The whole thing stinks, and if you guys at GR don't already know, you're sharpening the blade and directing the hand that will cut your own careers/earnings down.

Portal 2 (PS3): Valve: Multiplayer not necessary, Portal 2's story taking a different route from the first
Im all for the single player experience. I like the idea of online multiplayer, but I increasingly find the experience unenjoyable and repetitive. Personally, I think the online obsession with ranking, which on the surface seems great, is actually detrimental to the experience due to the "everyman for himself" mindset that is born from our competetive instincts. The strange thing is I feel I should like it, but it just doesn't hold any long term appeal to me. Just my thoughts...

Why Alan Wake's DLC is a brilliant download but a dangerous precedent
@myguyfromthe80s I am indeed. Been gaming since monitor screens were green :) I highly recommend getting the blu ray, poor dubbing still there but man, the visual quality is massively improved. Afraid to say you are right about DLC here to stay, I just think that paying over £10 is just not on for content already on the disc. I bought all of the Fallout DLC packs - that's where the right direction has been taken as they are "downloaded" and genuinely add to the existing game. The COD formula is where the road gets rocky, and I fear the average gamer is not savvy enough to make the right choices so that DLC is created as the original concept intended it to be.

@myguyfromthe80s First of loveing the Enter the Dragon pic, good memories! I agree with you, except they never do make it clear that you may have to purchase DLC to get the full experience intended by the development studio. If i buy a game I want to know beforehand that some of it will be held back as DLC, at the moment this is not the case. All DLC is being sold on the basis that it is additional content, when infact it is already on the disc. I would not buy the game if I knew I would need to buy the DLC (which is a false term as nothing is actually downloaded in most cases) to experience the game in full, as it was intended.

The whole DLC situation stinks. The original concept was a great one, unfortunately we barely saw the benefits before developers realised how much cash they could make by selling parts of the game that are already on the disc. Games are simply costing way too much to make, until this changes I can only see things getting worse. Gamers should adopt the Apple App Store approach, prices are controlled by the consumers unwilling to be ripped of with shoddy DLC or overpriced games

1 year, 5 months ago Sony looking into charging second-hand buyers for online play. Fair deal, or massive rip-off?
If, and it's a big if, they charge for online use only I think I would accept that. What I don't want to see is people being charged for second game access on single player games that last 10-15 hours.

The whole DLC scene is a massive rip-off, it's not even extra content for ffs. People will not pay for a game, then pay for "DLC" that is already on the disc AND then pay for online access.

On the plus side of all this, 2nd hand game prices will adjust according to the cost of the online pass. So maybe all things being equal, it's the seller who loses out. Is that a bad thing?
