8 months ago The Top 7... Loading screens that don't suck quite as hard as loading screens normally do
The best part about the Resident Evil loading screens was in RE2 (I think) a zombie jumped out. The door opened normally then a zombie appeared.

Great scare tactic because you thought the screens were safe.

And Venkman, duh.

IF someone could make an animated GIF of Guile listening to the chick talk about Blanka, I'd be thankful.

I would say Time Killers. The best part was if your arm got cut off, and you hit that arm button, you'd spurt a bit of blood.

I'd love me some zombie killing!
1 year, 4 months ago Sniping in war and videogames: Why it's hated, why it's loved, and why we do it
Delta Force was a great game for snipping. We used to play that all the time after school when I was in high school.
1 year, 5 months ago Never mind Brad Pitt - we've got the whole perfect cast for a Red Dead Redemption movie
Easy to choose casting when the characters are based off the actors.

And I'm talking about Irish, not Landon.

Why is Mutant League Football mentioned under "football games forgotten?" Obviously, it's not. You even mention that in the article!

For me, my forgotten football game that holds a special place in my heart is John Elway's games. There's a glitch that allowed you to run so fast no one could catch you.

1 year, 9 months ago Red Dead Redemption: were we shown too much?
As a game blogger, there isn't much you can do because it's your job.

However, no one else has the excuse. If you don't want things spoiled, don't watch/read it online!

1 year, 9 months ago The Top 7... Best demos of all time
Are we talking console only? Then I'd say Fight Night 3 was a great demo.

If we're talking PC, then THE BEST demo of all time is BF1942.
1 year, 9 months ago 6 most important game consoles of all time ever
I agree with the decision to put the 360 on the list, and for the reason mentioned. The 360 created online (console) gaming as we know it. Sure, you could play online before, but not with the ease through Live.

PS3 is a great system, but it's not important right now. Blu-ray is NOT important for gaming (yet). PSN is not as good as Live.

And although my Wii is gathering dust, it should be on the list as it pushed gaming into the general public even more than the PSX.
1 year, 10 months ago If Game Boy was the only console around
Some of those look like pre-Game Boy games. The Game Boy had better graphics than that.
1 year, 11 months ago Old school gaming features we'd love to see return
I'm confused. Wired controllers exist for both PS3 and 360. Sadly, my rechargeable battery on my 360 controller goes dead very quickly so I basically keep it plugged up all the time.

And for the PS3, it's a Mini USB. With an USB extender (or long USB cable), you can keep it plugged up forever.
