Those sneaky, sneaky bastards. They did the exact same thing before Halo 3 came out. They released a video of some soldiers being equipped and some ODST guys marking MC jumping out of his ship. I said to myself "self, Halo 2 was okay. Halo 3 is more of the same. You know what would be awesome? if it played NOTHING like halo, and featured some of those small guys from halo getting kicked around" You know what ODST is going to give you? Definitely not what I was thinking about as I watched these. You're getting HALO 3 1/2. This is Bungie we're talking about. They havent had a new idea since the first Marathon game. (dont you EVEN try to defend against that one, Marathon and Halo are so similar that people could mistake them for linked series. I'd bet one of my fleshy pink kidneys that bungie didn't do THAT one on purpose. You know why they put Marathon Man in Halo 3? Not to show theyre linked, Halo HAS an established timeline. It was because Bungie realized they blatantly copied an idea from one game to the other.) So if I can dissuade even ONE person from buying Halo: I Can Haz Recon or Halo: Rehash, I have done my job.
Oh, and that video was pretty awesome. While I HATE the halo games, the videos and mindfuckery Bungie uses to lure gamers back to the teabagging simulator are pretty creative. Just THINK what would happen if they used that creativity on thier actual product...

wow. you all fail. console arguments, fine. exclusives, ok. but COD4 went multiplatform. so did W@W. theyre on the same consoles and are part of the same series.

In my opinion, the CoD: Finest Hour was the best game of all of them. I expected a same old-same old shooter and the game proved me SO wrong. Who cares about Griggs? I nearly cried when the russian guy who leads you through the first mission got sniped.
I havent played W@W yet, but I've heard its just as good as COD4. Rent it, play it, and stop bickering with your fellow fanboys. If we argue, the Sony kids win.

I love my 360 and (almost) all the games on there, but if I lit Halo 3 on fire, set it on someone's porch, and rang the doorbell they'd stomp it out and be like "Aww, I got Halo 3 on my new italian loafers! Curse you darn kids!!!"

I dont find any of the games on this list to be fun. You can say I'm not hardcore, but you'd be lying. I spend (nearly) 12 or more hours a day on CoD4 and others, but I'm not masochistic. Games with that kind of difficulty dropped dead for a reason (unless you count a few exceptions like MM9). I am liable to throw a controller through a window after playing halo 3 matchmaking (I HATE HALO 3 BTW), so playing these games makes me question the kind of asshole who would make something like that.
PS I played alien homonid, but that damn first level stopped me and my little bro from advancing. It's like the creators dont want you to play, or that they only want soulless losers to see the end...

I'm hesitant to play either of those. GX seems WAY too hard, because I play games to (attempt) to relax, so games that are so hard that people gloat about succeeding are not my thing (i.e. Ninja Gaiden or the like), while WipEout seems a bit slower and just not my type of game. I guess I'll stick to NFS and GRID for my racing, thanks. If anyone wants to try to convince me I'm wrong or point out the flaws in my thinking I'm all ears. Im just more of an FPS kinda guy anyways...

while I own an xbox 360, and have little to no interest in buying a PS3, this is one game that even a hardcore micrsoft fanboy must give props to.
so yeah. on a side note, i used to be a sony fanboy but then there was no home, and i thought this would come out sooner, and thats why i switched to microsoft.

Also, i like getting 7 pages, its more bang for my buck. plus, since its free, its all bang and NO buck, one of the best things ever. Also, i have a lot of free time, so anything to keep me on the site day after day is good =)

I would die w/o my autosave. if my comp crashes or I forget or hit the wrong button it can save me a few hours =). However, I agree about the rest; autolock F***s up my aim in FPSs because it locks on but I was trying to aim manually so my aim moves too far to one direction and I miss; regenerating health vs health bar doesnt faze me much, it just changes how far across the map I have to run to heal. I gotta say unskippable tutorials arent as bad as a missing tutorial in a game that needs to properly explain the controls (BF:BC left bumper = go? WTF!?). All in all I wouldnt say harder or easier, just different.
Also, am I the only one who notices that all the games media has become REALLY jaded? yahtzee croshaw, gamesradar, and X-play have all lost the edge they used to have and have gone just as mainstream as the games they review (BF:Bad Company was not a good game, gamesradar!). I think this article really signifies how much you have become jaded and disillusioned. Im a pretty serious gamer, but destructible environments still amaze me and quicktime events have never bugged me. It doesnt bug me that all the reviewers have become this way, but I remember when we got excited about using dual analog sticks to aim or when you could press A to climb a small wall and wish for the wide-eyed enthusiasm we used to have for those little innovations

I played this game a crapton since it came out and all the way through it is awesome. However, you have to play your strengths; if youre a carnivore, be EVIL or else everyone will destroy you, If youre social, be NICE or everyone will pwn your weak creature; and if you try do do omnivore and don't immediately get owned youre better than me because I tried to do it but it labeled me as carnivore in creature stage, then social in tribe, so i got stuck with a religious society (NOT my style) and then ecologist in space. Also, make sure you save A LOT because the game will NEVER save for you, so if you die or royally screw up an alliance (don't ever go to war if you can help it until you have upgraded all the weapons to lvl 2) then youre just screwed. I had to replay 5 hours of gameplay because I forgot to save and decided to do so just after an assault on an enemy planet. however there were so many ships my comp pulled me out of the game, and when I put my cursor over the top left of my screen I got the spore cursor even though all I could see was my desktop, and the game was paused so they didnt kill me, but there was no way to switch back from the desktop to spore and I had to turn off my comp to fix it. and that was just after I had gotten all the lvl 2 weps and lvl 4 health =(

I'm sorry, I have to rain on your parade of wrongness. I did not enjoy this game. I regret even renting it (thank god I didn't buy it!). I was looking forward to it all the way up to the moment I played it, then I went and played CoD4 again and never looked back. While I must admit that the destructible enviroments are awesome, and the HDR stuff was pretty "neat" to say the least, but the rest of the game was like a crappy rip-off of an even crappier shooter. The story was interesting at first, but they managed to make it boring by the third level; the enemies had the bullcrap 900-yard accuracy and *almost* perfect camoflage, because half the time I was hiding behind a wall and they would see me first (grey guys + crap aiming + grey enemies = 8/10 rated shooter?) and shoot me with thier tank and I would have to redo the whole assault; the guy ran only slightly faster when sprinting, and although the vehicles were the fastest transport they were hard to drive (I read the review first and thought it was clunky on paper, just wait till you try driving those deathtraps in battle); and the vehicle missions were almost impossible to do because the enemies would ambush you from a mile away, meaning you have to memorize where they are in order to win because all the enemies have RPGs and insane camo. I didnt play after the mission where you have to defend the tank you JUST RESCUED after it got scrapped and has to be repaired as bunches of dudes and tanks come to kill you, because it was just too unenjoyable even for me. Instead, I played one or two rounds of multiplayer, and I got four classes, no gun switching until you die, interminably long respawns for people AND vehicles, and no way to get into the action after spawning at base with no vehicles. The best way to describe the online is by saying it's halo with cheaper vehicles, bad respawns, very few guns, no real sniping (because everyone can blow holes in walls so hiding is next to impossible) and a look somewhere in between CoD4 and R6V. I wouldnt reccomend even renting it because it's just not fun. Stick to CoD4 and dont worry, you didnt miss anything worthwhile. I really wanted to like this game, but it's like really wanting to like getting kicked in the nuts, you can't do it. I hate to be the flamer of this game but this review led me to rent it and didnt warn me (gamesradar is awesome and will flame games like WALL-E but if they gave this game a bad review, then they might lose buddy-status with the developers and lose thier ability to get more games pre-release) so its (sorta) up to me. Dont buy it. Dont rent it. Dont bother telling me im wrong.
PS I even wanted to give this game a second chance just in case I was too harsh, but when I put the game in my console it fried my Xbox, and now I have to send it in to be fixed. Gee.........Thanks.........

I have to confess, after playing halo 3, I have bashed my controller against the wall. It still plays pretty well (better, actually, it's like its lucky now) and none of the sticks or buttons were damaged, but there is a big crack down the side. I've always dreamed of doing what you guys did in that video.
