| Black Isle and Interplay. Yes I know some of them went and formed Obsidian, but it's not all the same. Remember Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment? Some of those games made time seem meaningless. |

| @Mr. Reparaz: I think that you aren't going to have nearly as many responses to this review as you did for Infamous. Why? People seem to gravitate toward controversy and console exclusives that don't score an 8 or higher. You're review is tasteful and actually caters to all audiences. Something the fanboys aren't quite used to. Seriously good review. With that said, I'd like to point you all in the direction of the IGN review. I understand that personal taste obviously flows into any and all reviews, but Eric here seems to have been misled. I won't lie that I've been looking forward to Prototype for a long time, but almost everything this guy says is outrageous. Which is exactly what this game is supposed to be about. http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/950254/prototype/videos/prototype_review_061009.html "I really wanted to do a cannonball." |

| I can honestly say that I was sincerely disappointed with Sony... again. We got to see more of the same and motion control. Oh boy. I can't believe Microsoft walked away with the best press conference. | |

| The editors here at GR have already gone on record stating what they think about this "console war." Every company has screwed up this generation, and that also applies to games. Fans ride on wings of hope for each exclusive that hits a console and for some reason this applies more to the PS3. Fans want to justify their purchase instead of being logical and human. But what can you expect when we now complain about scores? 5 is the median out of 10 and that's mediocre. How a 7 is a bad game that's not worth your money is a translation I'm unaware of. Nice job GR. Keep it up. |

infestedandy commented on: Are expansions ruining World of Warcraft? |
|
| Hey Tyler, Nice article. It really shows that you understand the game, but from my experiences I have a far different opinion. It's too much to talk about here so check it out if you get the opportunity. http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-4157-Phoenix-Video-Game-Examiner~y2009m3d31-World-of-Warcrafts-mistakes-revealed I feel that expansions are necessary for any MMO and they're going to increase content whether you like it or not. However, the way WoW is crafted makes it cumbersome to continue playing at later points. But while I absolutely despise the end-game and time you have to put in to earn anything, I hate Blizzard's random talent buff system even more. |

|
| As you can see, the Mega Man X series completely went downhill after X4. Some of the music and things about X6 were good, but not too much more. Apparently they ran out of names for the bosses and had to resort to the worst naming scheme of all time. | |

infestedandy commented on: Games that looked good on paper |
|
| I've always been an Ace Combat fan and the most fun for me comes from the third-person perspective. I like just flying around and when it gets hectic it's a blast. Dynasty Warriors used to be one of my most favorite games. When 3 came out on the PS2 I played that game to death. The problem came with the later installments when they didn't do ANYTHING different. The moves were exactly the same, same levels, same crappy AI. When Koei can actually make a next-gen DW, I'll give it a try. |

infestedandy commented on: Moon (DS): Moon – the final word |
|
| You guys are pointing out one or two things that Moon has over Metroid and then expecting a much greater score out of it. Scores always stir the pot and Brett did state how much he wanted the game to succeed. Fact of the matter is if a game is created with more quality then it's going to be a better experience. You can tell just from a 30s segment what Brett was talking about. The sound quality is much lower, the enemies are animated stiffly, nothing seems as robust and aesthetically appealing as Metroid, the list goes on. Both games are in the same genre so it's the norm that they're going to be compared. I understand that Renegade Kid had an ambitious vision and it definitely shows. But when compared to Nintendo, a low-scale developer like these guys are going to have a hard time competing. Put aside your personal bias, congratulate them, and then move on. Here's to hoping they learned some valuable lessons. |
