2 years, 5 months ago QOTW: What band do you now love because of music games?
The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets are pretty awesome. Kinda like a nerdy punk/grunge band. Never would've heard of them if not for the PAX pack.

And also, Priestess had that awesome song in GHIII and their album's pretty solid.

I also checked out a bit more Cream, The Doors, Blue Oyster Cult, Aerosmith, Smashing Pumpkins, Heart, Jane's Addiction and Thin Lizzy.
2 years, 6 months ago QOTW: What once-beloved game do you now hate?
The Sims. When I was young, carefree and had the time for it, it was pretty fun and absorbing. Even if for a bit you just got into a routine of eat, sleep, work.

Now I'm old, jaded and have less time, I pretty much live the eat, sleep, work routine and it's not fun, just absorbing
2 years, 6 months ago The Top 7… 2008 games we can't stop playing
I think a few people are still playing 2007 games:
- Halo 3
- CoD4
- Mass Effect (although I think a lot I'm hearing about were sparked by ME2 hype)

The first two are a bit obvious though.

I'm pretty sure I've only done shoryukens instead of hadoukens on SFIV. Stupid controls.
2 years, 7 months ago QOTW: What is your all-time favorite console?
Playstation 2. My console for a long time and through my uni days. Many happy memories. But...

I remember when it first came out and I couldn't afford it. And I didn't have a job then either. Then much later when I heard about them being cheap at a local supermarket I bugged my parents about getting one, perhaps ready for Christmas (which I think was a couple of months away: I was a sneaky bastard). They did end up getting one and when I found out I was asking to use it early (so ashamed...).

Of course, when I finally got it at Christmas they hadn't got me any games so I was borrowing an old WWF/WWE one and GT3. And I didn't have a memory card either. Oh happy days...
2 years, 7 months ago What are the favourite 'types' of people used on video game box-art?
@GoldenMe Grammar, please! =p
2 years, 7 months ago QOTW: What dead company or franchise do you miss the most?
Carmageddon all the way. Such classic games. Certainly in need of a current gen update or remake; there's just nothing else quite like them.
2 years, 7 months ago What are the favourite 'types' of people used on video game box-art?
I don't think this was done properly!

In the 7 out of 100 featuring NON-WHITE people you missed Tiger Woods (from the image above it) and included Vin Diesel in Pitch Black but not Wheelman (an image on page 1).

And on the 8 out of 100 featuring a mix of WHITE and NON-WHITE PEOPLE you've missed Ready 2 Rumble and Punch Out (from the image below)

I call shenanigans! This must be an exact science, damnit!
2 years, 7 months ago Our 10 favourite songs in Rock Band Unplugged
@CreeplyTuna

There are actually 8 Jimi Hendrix songs available in Guitar Hero: World Tour. Purple Haze (Live) and The Wind Cries Mary are on the disc itself while in track packs you can purchase
- Freedom
- Angel
- Foxy Lady (Live)
and
- If 6 Was 9
- Little Wing
- Fire (Live)

I do, however, wish all of these were in Rock Band instead.
2 years, 7 months ago QOTW: What overused gameplay element are you terribly sick of?
I know everyone is saying quicktime events so I'm gonna go with something different.

'Karma' systems. That choice between good and evil. It's always implemented so poorly and really harms the story since your character can think 'well, whatever'; there's no consistency. Being good you can always see the outcome and being bad is just for the sake of being an asshole. And then only the extremes have their advantages (inFamous being the most recent example). There's never a decent middle ground or reason to sometimes do good but sometimes be selfish too.

About Me
I like to play in my band (guitar or bass mainly). I work a crappy job until I find something in my chosen career, and most likely, in London. I like games, mainly 360 ones.
