It's Othello with special moves and odd-shaped boards. The Story Mode text is dire - I skipped through most of it. Some of the special moves are great (Mimbi - place two counters on empty spaces, Geb - six selected tokens have 50% chance of changing) but most look like a desperate attempt to fill the Petpet board. One Petpet each per game would have been sufficient - 5 each is way too many. I just followed the basic rules - To begin with keep play in the centre 16 squares - Get the corners as soon as possible - Don't give your opponent edge spaces. Also for this NeoPets version - save your special moves until late on in the game. This was enough to win all but 2 of my battles. Can you actually get better at Othello? I liked the animals (who could not like Taigar & Mimbi) and the music is atmospheric. While NeoPets does not hold your attention for long, you will keep coming back to it for the occasional hour of relaxing gaming. I enjoyed Neopets Puzzle Adventure. A NOTE ON OTHER COMMENTS:- It seems a bit sad that there were 8 comments here and none were directly about the game. DNAndy11 making himself look stupid with a vacuous first posting and then trying to get out of it. P1CKL3 so happy to be third, fourth & fifth poster, still with nothing to say. BulletBill's needless cursing and silentcap's "The review wasn't bad". I have a question to these users: When you hear in the media that the internet is full of idiots with nothing to say - do you think they are talking about someone else? FancyRat's comments on DNAndy11 must surely apply to the rest of you.
