i loved little kings story!! i was stuck playing my wii for so damn long.

wasn't that big of a fan of excite-bot trick racing though. it was good, but not great.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone on the gba, i actually liked the majority of it, i remember being impressed that you could move diagonally (you couldn't do that in pokémon!) and most of the repetitive and boring tasks were right up my nine year old alley, erm... that came out wrong...

the thing that made me hate it was one of the last segments of the story where harry goes and fights some chess pieces, which was literally FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE!! i up'd his stats and spent weeks getting the best spells and the best healing potions and i could barely make a dent in their health... i think it ended up being "accidental" put in the washing machine.

the ironic thing about M$ and sony trying to tap into the casual market is that the fad is over. the media is already going on about how parents are disappointed that their kids wiis have just been given up already. and it's doubtful that they'll pay for something as a ps3 or 360 after the last fad. i can here it already: "why do you need this new toy, you still have the wii?".

so unless sony and M$ aim this at hardcore gamers and pull it off i don't think it's going to work. they're already thinking of the casual gamers.


on the other hand it could be a blinding success for all three companies, that caters for both hardcore and casual, for many more years, giving them more money to invest in making us better games and better consoles. we can only hope.

wii got a good grip on the casual market because it was fun, easy to get into and most importantly cheap for a console. i don't see that many soccer moms buying an xbox360 then paying an extra 200 (rumored price) for Natal.

also, i can't wait to see the flame wars. how will the M$ fanboys react when they have the gimicky ad-on?

my guess, hypocriticly.


for the future, i don't see how a wii-motion plus zelda isn't already in the making. it would be out-right insanity not to.

as a proud wii owner, my favorite moment was definitely sony and microsoft announcing motion controls. i've already notice the difference in the word "gimmick" used by fanboys.

other than that, all the games. from mario galaxy 2 and metroid: other M, to left 4 dead 2 and crackdown 2 i'll have enough to keep me busy, but i may well be moving into my friends house for a fortnight around november 17th.

no actually, thats not what i thought. i knew there was going to be stuff for the casual market, it would be wrong for ninty not to cater for them at this point, but there was more than enough to keep me satisfied.

miyamoto said it would be 95 to 99% original ideas that just never made it into the first game. like left 4 dead 2, theres so much that could've gone into the first one, but sadly didn't. just because it's in space again doesn't mean it's bad.


really this is the very worst thing about E3, everyone makes assumptions about new games they didn't even know was coming based on a single trailer and a few minutes of a showman talking, but you didn't even listen to the real showman of ninty in e3, miyamoto is where the real deal is at.

@shadowless and liamrules: fire has to be one of THE WORST weapons against a zombie. zombies can't fell pain and they never stop. the only difference between fire and no weapons, is that you're on fire too when you get mauled.

chainsaws good and all, but you have to think of petrol and how heavy it is. if you can use one, samurai sword is your best bet.

@oryandmackie: re4s ending was better than re5s. re4 stuck with the long held tradition of the place you just fought and narrowly escaped blowing the fuck up. 1 a mansion, 2 and three 1 town! 4, a freakin island!!

5? i guess you could say it blew something up, getting wesker with the rocket launchers. but its not really good enough.

i do see much difference between a train and a boat in zelda, they're both kinda shite and really don't fit with link.

but PH was amazing, and as much as i do miss epona in the last few zelda games this looks pretty damn good. new enemies, new(ish) weapons and some damn fine looking puzzles, it's not to shabby. as long as there's no more temples with time limits that you have to repeat several times over i'm happy.
